You Have What It Takes: What Every Father Needs to Know

Good little booklet, but I’d recommend skipping it for Wild At Heart.

I was sitting in a young man’s living room. We just finished a meeting. Unrelated to this book. He picked it up and said I found this at my house the other night. He said I can’t believe the words in this book. They were so encouraging I didn’t know.I smiled. He didn’t know. I gave them out at Father’s Day. This was six months after.

I personally did not read this book - I purchased it for my husband who was never affirmed by either his biological, or step-dad, that he had what it takes. My husband was so encouraged by the message, and subsequently inspired to reach out to his adult daughters. It’s never too late to try and speak to the unmet need in your child. And never too late for you, as a man, to be affirmed and validated. You are worthy of the message in this little book.

I love the Wild At Heart series. They have changed my life and redefined much of what I thought I knew about fatherhood and raising boys into honorable young men. This is a great primer for the WAH series and I would use it as a handout to get someone else primed or their interest piqued about the books. I took off one star because this is hardly a $10 "book". It is more of a $3 pamphlet.

This is a short book. I finished it in two sittings. As men we are often clueless as to what our children need from us so we focus on trying to make money. It will open up a father’s eyes to what his children need from him to thrive.

Really draws a lot from Wild at Heart like others have said but the pages are filled with gold. Such good information. Couldn't recommend it more highly - especially if you haven't read Wid at Heart or if you want a more practical guide to parenting from a Christian perspective. I am continuously reminded that John has been given this purpose to inspire a generation and generations to come with healing and the confidence to be the man God created us to be. I am grateful for this guide and hope you will be as inspired as I have been by these words.

When my son was born, it took two years for me to live with him and my daughter was born a few months later. This Book change me and kept me grounded as a father. I was looking for a small book that i can read in few days and this book was a God sent. it kept me from abandoning my children because i was getting tired of everything. I recommend this for new dads. its a great book and it gives you the big picture why you should do whatever it takes to be a dad for your children. GREAT BOOK

My granddaughter just gave birth to my first great grandchild, a daughter. I bought this book for my grandson-in-law along with a few more copies to have for future reference. The message is that important and that simple to grasp. Children need acceptance and God invested the ability to instill that in their fathers. The author has found a deep revelation that, if every man knew it and put it into practice, we could empty all the prisons and mental institutions.

In diesem dünnen Büchlein (basierend auf den Kernaussagen des Buches "Wild at Heart: Discovering the Secret of a Man's Soul" von John Eldredge) erfährt ein Mann, was nur er seinen Kindern und der Mutter seiner Kinder geben kann. Es ist in einem sehr ermutigenden Ton geschrieben. Auch wenn ein Mann nicht an Gott glaubt, können ihm die Kernaussagen des Büchleins sehr helfen und ihn ermutigen, seinen Kindern ein Vater zu sein, der sie fürs Leben stärkt.So many fathers are not aware of their importance as a father and as supporter of the mother of his children. The contents of the booklet are based on the key ideas of the book "Wild at Heart: Discovering the Secret of a Man's Soul" by John Eldredge and reveal what only a father can be for his children. It's very encouraging. Even when a father doesn't believe in God, the booklet may be very helpful to him as a father who wants to strengthen his children for their whole lives.
