I’m going to need to cut cardboard to fit inside and support the sides.I’m two years late with my update: It took some time to decompress from the packaging, but the cube DOES stay up. I had my very overweight senior cat spending time in this thing and it has held up!!! My cats love it!!!!

This is made well and it's warm. Has a soft pad to sit on Inside. My large Male cat sits in it perfectly and it still has room.

The soft-sided cube is very attractive, with nice fabrics. I got chocolate brown, with fleece lining. Unfortunately, it doesn't hold its shape. It sags and crumples, and once it got rolled across the floor like dice and landed upside-down. I have seen the cats sleeping in it, but now they mostly sleep on top of the squashed-down cube. I have to say, they seem to like it as a pet bed, even if they just sleep on top and not inside the cube. It looks like I have two choices--shake it back into shape twice a day, or just let it lie flat with a cat on top of it.I bought one of these "cube" shapes and one of the "igloo" shapes. Of the two, I like the "igloo" a lot better. The "igloo" is a pyramid or tepee shape, and it holds its shape without any problem. For winter nights, I want something the cats can crawl inside, so the "igloo" is better for keeping them warm. They do like the squashy-cube bed, so it's not really a waste having bought it.***********I'm updating my review because a couple of months after I bought this, it occurred to me to reinforce the sides by putting some pieces of cardboard boxes inside the cat cube to hold up the ceiling. Also, I put the cube underneath a chair, so the cats can't try to jump on top of it to squash it down. Now, it is very popular. One cat sleeps on the chair, and another cat sleeps in the cube underneath the chair - very cute. Upgrading my review to 4 stars instead of 3 stars.*************Here is another update to my review. I figured out that this soft "Petmaker" cat cube fits exactly inside another cat cube that I bought (MidWest Homes for Pets Curious Cat Cube, Brown Suede). I put the soft cube inside the hard cube and now it holds its shape without being under a chair.

Several years ago I bought a plush cat cube and my cats, in their old age, are now fighting over it, so when I saw the Petmaker soft indoor enclosed covered cavern, I immediately purchased it. However, once it arrived, I quickly discovered that it doesn't live up to the description. There are a couple of good things about it, so I will share those as well.Pros:- Collapsible construction (also a con) means that if cats are jumping around on it instead of sleeping inside, it will be able to pop back up without damage.- Removable cushion. It's nice to have this removable for cleaning purposes.Cons:- Collapsible construction means that they sent this folded down and vacuum sealed, so if you keep it, it could take weeks to fully pop open. If you have a suspicious cat like I do, then that's going to make for a waste of cat house. Even after adding the removable cushion, this cat house could not make a standup square. The collapsible mailing protocol has pretty much rendered this cat house unable to stand of its own accord. There are what are probably permanent creases in the side walls.- Description is misleading. The product description reads "plush foam walls." In reality, the walls are pretty thin and the inside of this cat cube is lined with black scratchy support fabric, so there's unfortunately nothing plush about it. This is further a problem because the description talks about the "velvety material" which is on the outside and the top of the removable cushion only. This is very misleading. Based on these things, I expected the inside to be lined with the same material.- Inside construction is very messy. There's no plush liner or velvety material inside, just the black construction material, and every seam is open and accessible. Cats that love to chew on things they're not supposed to with have ease of access to the seam strings and to the edges of the black construction material. This was again misleading on the part of the description. I'm also concerned about the significant presence of the black material because the product description never mentions the makeup of this material, only the grey material. So much emphasis on the outside of the cat cave, but in face, the cats will be inside it, so that part matters so much more.- The "plush foam walls" are not really plush. The walls are extremely thin, which also contributes to their inability to come back after being vacuum sealed and creased.Overall, this is just not the product I expected to receive and I'm incredibly disappointed in it. I will be sending it back.

Waste of money.

Esta bonita y creo que a mi gatito le gustó! Se ve muy Agusto y el cojincito es suave adentro. Si es blanda y hay que abrir el cuadrito. Llegó rápido

Bought this for my cats but they didn’t like the soft folding walls that seem not to stand straight. It serves like a hideout for kittens.

This is a lovely, plush, well-made product. It is smaller than I anticipated, but it is fine for a kitten or smaller adult cat. I'm very happy with it.
