Excellent read and perfect for any NICU parent!
It was so nice to read this book and learn that the emotions we are feeling as NICU parents are the same especially the constant worrying about our preemie. In addition it was also wonderful how the book incorporated real parental accounts and the things you will never take for granted and appreciate so much more. I highly recommend this book for any NICU parent and for even close friends and family of NICU parents who want to more fully appreciate and support us. We had a wonderful support network while our son was in NICU but was discouraged to hear that other parents we met did not have that same support or understanding of how taxing being a NICU parent is. Family was keeping up with my house and meal cooking so I could spend as much time at the NICU as possible to see our son, educate myself like reading this book and being at Dr 's rounds.

Such a good book
When our preemie was born, I read The Premature Baby Book (which focuses primarily on the hospital stay) and this book (which focuses more on the time after discharge). The combination of these two books was so incredibly helpful for understanding what was happening to our baby and what to expect as he continues to grow. What I liked most about this book was the positive tone. The author shared lots of information without making it scary, and I could tell that she had been where I was and felt the way I was feeling. The only thing I didn't like about the book was that it presented information only from the perspective of formula feeding (and I don't have a problem with formula feeding!), which left out a lot of the trials and experiences that I was going through trying to pump and figure out how to breastfeed a baby that didn't have his reflexes coordinated.Other than that, I think this is an excellent book for NICU parents, especially if you are nearing the end of your hospital stay or have just come home.

A Very Worthwhile Aid for Preemie Families!
Our daughter had her baby at 27 weeks. We were new to the world of the NICU and everything that accompanies a premature baby. I actually bought two. One for my daughter and her husband and one for us. This book has invaluable, compassionate, and eye-opening information for the new parent, grandparents and others who will become part of this world. As our now our granddaughter is still in the NICU after 2 months. The ups and downs have been a real roller coaster, but the information shared in this book have made the crazy ride more understandable. I would recommend this to all who have a premature child or grandchild. I also recommend reading the section on Financial Aid at the very beginning and look into what aid is available for families. A very worthwhile book. Thank you for taking the time to share your experiences to help others!

Spelling errors!
The information in the book is quite beneficial if you can get past all the spelling errors. I would hope that someone would take the time to review this prior to publishing it in Kindle format.

A must for all premie parents.
This book is great for premies. What makes it wonderful is that you can just read the chapters you need at that time. No need to read the entire book from beginning to the end. It is easy to read and detailed as well. I wish I found it while my twins were in the NICU.

Waste of money
I purchased this book after my baby was home, the content that was in the book was worthless. Over half of the book was about the NICU stay. Also found a lot of typos. Very disappointed that I didnt open it before the return window closed. Waste of $11

Concerned Grandma
My only son's baby boy came at 24 weeks, weighing in at 1 lb 7 oz.We were scared, confused and in the dark about a lot of things. This is a great easy to read helper that answers alot of the questions we have had since January 16th.My Grandson is 4lbs and got to wear preemie clothes last night. Please get this book to help you understand and relax a little about a new preemie or "micro-preemie" which is what my grandson was.

Must read for families with preemi. Highly Recommend
Really like this book. It is very informative and help to understand what your preemie is dealing with. Enables you to ask question to the doctor and staff. I purchased two books but this is the only one I would have needed. I have not read the book from the beginning but went to the areas that are most relevant to me. Lot of information that is needed for baby's future as well as the critical information during NICU. Highly recommend
