SHOYEIDOAmethyst Incense, 30 Sticks

This is my favorite incense. It's light and fragrant, but not too cloying or intense. It's perfect for purifying the air and it always leaves me in a positive mood. I always keep an ample supply on hand.

Shoyeido is a highly respected company in the Japanese incense market. This one is a little bolder then their “Cherry Blossom” but still holds on to a sweet note. Overall a great scent, perfect for a meditative early morning or evening.

I love this brand of incense. The scents are amazing, soft, and delicate; not overpowering or harsh. While the amethyst scent is my favorite, all of the Shoyeido jewel incenses are wonderful.

(update) Been a while since I ordered this particular flavor. Been enjoying some other Shoyeido scents. The sticks I got this time are of lesser quality than before. I've been buying "Amethyst" for years from a local store (and amazon when they are out). These ones this time are much drier, fainter scent, and I am guessing (hopefully incorrectly) a different recipe. I can't recommend this recent purchase. Hopefully I just got an old box or something. Also, box arrived damaged, and some sticks broken - but probably not Shoyeido's fault...amazon soft packaging.--Original--Shoyeido is my go-to brand for incense. They are all light, delicate and airy. Not overpowering in my small apartment.This scent is my favorite. It reminds me of oatmeal cookies. But better. I almost hate to say that scent, for fear of turning people away, but it is the best I can describe as a casual incense burner.Actually after writing this review, I am going to walk over and burn a stick right now. Thanks!

This is my first time purchasing the Amethyst by Shoyeido. It has Sandalwood, Cinnamon, Saussurea and spices. The sticks them selves smell extremely intense of woody violets and ylang ylang (perfume like) . Reminds me of a grandma's bathroom as it has a baby powder and heavy perfume smell. That being said, the actual burn is initially strong but not as cloying. I'm not 100% liking it if it's in the same room as me. Too much of the heavy saussurea smell. But once the scent is circulating in the house it's like warm oatmeal cookies, very creamy, soft and sweet without overdoing it. Baked goods are always a fav in this house. I'm actually glad it's a bit powerful, I can burn 1/3 a stick and put a fan on to move it around the house and the whole place smells great for the day. I can see this going either way for new time users.

My favorite incense! I buy it for myself, and annually as a stocking stuffer for my adult son (YES, he still gets a stocking). :) Smells pleasant -- soft and slightly cinnamony, but not overly cloying or fruity like some incense. Perfect for meditation and yoga practice. Tip: sometimes I light the stick, wave it around the room a few times, and then snuff it out. It leaves just the right amount of incense fragrance without getting too smoky (which is not fun when you're trying to relax).

Shoyeido makes very pleasant smelling incense, and this is one of my favored varieties. This incense has a gentle sandalwood and cinnamon scent. Like most Japanese incense, when it's burning it smells very similar to the scent of the freshly opened box; this is a good thing indeed! I can't say that most incense on a wooden stick (which this is not) has the same pleasant waft when burnt as it does in the package.

We're buddhists, so burning incense is kind of "a thing" in our house. We've tried several brands available in the US, and even other Shoyeido scents. This is the only one my wife will let me buy, because its scent reminds her of the temples she grew up around in Japan, yet is also neither too plain nor too overpowering. Ordering here is only 40 cents more than the lone local vendor I'm aware of, and I don't have to make a special stop for incense.

This was my second time purchasing this exact incense. It has very pleasant scent and calming effects.The scent last quite a while after it is done burning.

Was für tolle Räucherstäbchen! Ich liebe diesen Geruch und gehe extra sparsam mit ihnen um.Der Duft ist zart würzig und angenehm süßlich. Er ist überhaupt nicht aufdringlich, sondern eher ein leichte Brise. Auch verfliegt er schnell wieder.Die Stäbchen sind ohne Holzstab in der Mitte, recht dünn und von daher zerbrechlich. Sie passen gut in den kleinen hübschen Halter. Ich verbrenne sie allerdings lieber in einer Schale mit Sand.Die Räucherstäbchen von Shoyeido haben eine ausgezeichnete Qualität! Ich kann sie nur jedem ans Herz legen.
