An album of Joy
This album is understated and, for me, has strong echos of The Civil Wars, the duo that won Joy and her fellow Civil War, John Paul White, four Grammy awards for two superb albums.There are no stand-out tracks here because the whole album is of a consistently high quality; so I won't name titles, but it does have lyricism and fairly sparse arrangements which fit the songs beautifully. Yes, instrumentally, this is top-notch and I just love her voice - always have, I think, and always will.Her last solo album, Venus, was outstanding. This is very different but, if you loved the Civil Wars, you will love this. It is THAT good. A very special album and already a contender for my album of the year.

Superb
I liked Joy Williams in the Civil Wars and when I started to play this album I was immediately Hooked.The Civil Was style is there but this album just grows and grows on you. The signing and playing in sublime and like another review I saw - there is not a duff track on the CD.It is quite simply one of the best albums I have heard in a long while

Absolutely brilliant!
Absolutely brilliant album from Joy which IMHO demonstrates that she was the one providing the most romantic songs for The Civil Wars. Not downplaying John Paul White's contribution to that excellent duo, but this is closer to what I loved about The Civil Wars than either of his two (also excellent) solo albums.

Have followed Amy for a while and this is her best album yet, superb songs, beautiful arrangements and I love her voice.Give it a try.

Joy is a treasure
This album is I think her most cohesive one! The tracks are all good (there are no fillers at all!). I cannot wait to listen to Joy's upcoming albums!
