This head is just what I needed for my Ludwig Brass Supraphonic snare. It has all the sensitivity and responsiveness of a traditional single-ply head, but with a slight attenuation of overtones and sustain. Very similar to a Remo Powerstroke 3. It focuses the tone and shortens the sustain without killing the natural sound of the drum. Perfect for when you want a controlled but natural sound. When tuned correctly, this drum has glorious ring and sustain, and I didn’t want to lose that entirely, but in my recording space I needed it to be dialed back a bit. This head is absolutely perfect for that use. I’d love for Evans to make this head for toms as well.

Quite often, folks will say they use a coated Remo Ambassador on their snares since it's the best go-to head choice. This one beats that one out by far.It's a high quality single-ply 10 mil head with a 2 mil ring around the outside. You get a nice, crisp, sensitive sound with good control on the overtones and ring. It tames any snare fairly well, without choking or changing the tone of the drum.The coating is durable, and stands up to regular playing, and still provides texture for brushes after it's worn in. The Level 360 collar is fantastic, and these tune up very easily. After going finger tight, the hoop is even. Keeping all even turns on each lug had me within 2-3 Hz on a Tune-Bot. I never got this kind of evenness and consistency with any Remo head.These are on all my snare drums, and none use any muffling. Worth the modest price, and lasts a good while.

I ended up going with a Genera Dry to get the perfect sound, but this could be a really good head on a less obnoxious drum than the one I was taming. My imported Chinese shell just had tons of hideous and horrible overtones. I needed something more aggressive than this, but on a better shell, this could be the ticket to the perfect sound. I'm a Remo guy who hates not hating Evans, and I have to tip my hat to this head.

Thanks to a video I watched of a drummer sampling every Evans snare head, I finally found the snare head I’ve been looking for. This head sounds beautiful, no matter what style I’m playing.

Evans makes a great product.

We got my son this head for Christmas and he loves it. He would recommend this head for drummers that love a good sounding head. So if you want a head with some pop into it, get this head.

The is a decent medium priced snare drum head from a well respected provider. This is not thier top end product and having played the head for about 5 hours and his has lost some of the textured covering and has a few dents ( I am not a particulary heavy hitter). However, the head is easy to tune and looks like it will last a while. Good value for money.

Great fit and held tuning well. Fitted on my studio kit then transferred to my new tama kit. Perfect
