Having read The Original Tao Te Ching, Zen and the Art of Archery , The Tao of Health, Sex & Longevity and the Tao of POOH, I considered myself a bit of an expert on the subject. But the author’s insightful and uplifting writing reminds me that I am only a beginner with so much to learn. As life swirls around us like a fast flowing river constantly pushing forward it’s easy to forget how powerful the philosophies of the Tao can be. Mr. Waller is clearly a true expert with a deep knowledge of his subject matter as well as a talented writer because this book brings home those philosophies in a gentle, accessible way that keeps you turning pages. The best books in this genre don’t preach at you, they shine a light into your life that illuminates something you couldn't see before which is exactly what makes this one of the best books in this genre. This book is a must-have for those searching for enlightenment…or just a really good read.

The Way Of The Tao
I really did not know much about the Tao before I read this book. I will say one thing right up front. Waller explains this ancient philosophy in a way that anybody can understand. But even though the explanations are simple, the book is not simple. In fact, by the end you are actually "feeling" the concepts as much as you are reading about them. I think that is because the book provides clear illustrations as well as explanations. In my opinion, that really makes this an amazing book from an amazing writer.

Even if you are not into martial arts, this book is excellent and provocative reading for looking at the world and your place in it. Enjoyable reading, with insights to last a lifetime. Will read it definitely more than once. The type of book that leaves you with a good and long lasting feeling. It's a challenge.

A MOST EXCELLENT BOOK
A most excellent book and very understandable words. Following the words is like following a trail in the woods where may be rewards at every turn and lead you to a more balanced plane plus Quince you thirst.

A nice read complete with typos!
I enjoyed this book. It does have quite a few typos in it though lol. I read the free sample, and then I looked at the author's profile. It made me laugh, so I decided to buy the book. It's been an enjoyable read. I like (and appreciate) that Mr W explains it all in an easy to read manner. Some of these 'spiritual books' are so full of hardcore, terminology, that they're a grind to read. This is written in a down to earth manner, and I appreciate that. This book also helped me to understand a lot more of Alan Watts, and that's awesome! Alan Watts has been a lifesaver for me. However, some of his online lectures go over my head. As I was reading this book, light bulbs were going off in my head. I was like 'yeah, now I get that Alan Watts point.' For that alone, thanks, Mr W! Alongside this book, I downloaded a free mindfulness book from Amazon as well. Both books combined have put me in an excellent mood! I am beginning to see how this planet is all interconnected and that's nice. I'm slowly beginning to live more in the present moment. When you do this, you begin to see everything so much more deeply. I like that. I would say this book is aimed more at beginners like me, so it's probably best to download the free sample if you're more experience in Taoism. I'll also drop the author a quick email on how to proof easily and cheaply! Thumbs up from me.

A different perspective
One of the things I like most about books on Tao is the expectation not to agree on all points. Dennis Waller Tao is not mine. This book is interesting and thoughtful. I agree with parts of Wallers philosophy but not all. Despite this it is worth a read by Taoists everywhere.

Accessible wisdom
This book makes it easy to relate the wisdom of the Tao to the world today. Example of how the Buddha,Jesus, Native Americans and others can all be seen as living in the Tao make it eminently relatable.
