Best cookbook so far!
This is my third gluten-free vegan baking cookbook and this is the only one that consistently delivers. I never have to amend the recipes and the flours are all available at my local grocery store.

This cookbook has a lot of familiar desserts and breads.
Having food allergies like egg, dairy and wheat takes some of the joy out of baking for me . This book gave me some of those foods back in an easy to understand format with simple ingredients, even including a conversion and substitution chart. This is now my go to book for baking.

I love the book!!!! I have made several of the recipes and they come out prefect!! I do live an gf v lifestyle and I’m happy to know that the recipes are used with sugar balancing ingredients as well!! My family isn’t strictly v gf but they really enjoyed the recipes!! I recommend this book to anyone especially looking for an healthier way of baking!! As far as the ingredients needed I have found buying them from Amazon gives me more bang for my buck!!

Mostly great
As the mom of a kid with 5 serious food allergies, I’m grateful to have this book as a resource. With that said, I’ve made 6 recipes from the book and every single one needed adjusting. Too sweet, to dry. I write notes in the pages for next time. It just seems like the recipes weren’t tested enough before publishing. I was a chef for 20 years so I can adapt but I’m not sure how someone who isn’t really comfortable in the kitchen would like the book.

AWESOME!
I just can’t say enough good things about this cookbook. I’m a mom of 4 young children (my oldest is in 2nd grade), and we recently found out our 5 year old son has several intolerances to foods I’m used to cooking and baking with. I started to desperately research online for tools to help, and stumbled upon this book. I’m SO GLAD I bought it! Yes there are several different flours and sweeteners I’m not used to working with, but she has done all the hard work of figuring it out and all you have to do is follow the directions. I found all the different flours I needed on amazon, so was able to obtain them without even leaving my house. I am ever so grateful. If I want to give my kids muffins for breakfast, cookies after dinner or bake a cake for their birthday, I now don’t have to worry. I have several options right here, and the ones I’ve tried so far have been excellent. I’m honestly so thankful I could cry. I wouldn’t have chosen a gluten free/vegan lifestyle, but someone who now has no choice I am very, very glad. Thank you Sara McGlothlin for making my life a little bit easier.

Thorough. Great substitutes
I am super grateful for this book!I haven’t been able to follow her recipes exactly due to my individual needs. But how awesome is it to have an entire book with a swath of recipes with a wide variety for gluten free AND vegan!I refer to it often for substitute recommendations, measurements and ideas. It is very difficult to attempt gluten free and vegan baking. Thus I changed my review from 4 to 5 stars in gratitude for such an amazing gift of knowledge. And totally accessible ingredients. Thank you Sarah!

I wouldn’t give this as gifts.
I like this book but it has no pictures I was disappointed with that . And the icing recipe was so greasy I won’t make it again. Cupcakes were good though.

Lots of options offered for the recipes as substitutions
A very good baking book for a difficult group to bake for. GF and Vegan combo.

No pictures of recepies and measurements in cups
I hope the recipes are working good, I’ll test them, but I am so disappointed that measurements in US cups. From my point of view the professional approach - to put gramms measure to be suitable for everybody. And one more - there are bo pictures of creations under every recipe - so need to imagine how it looks like. I am not talking about the picture of process, but bo picture of result even.

No images
The books lacks images which are a quintessential part of any cookbook. Moreover, the recipes are in US measurement. Im giving 3* as Im still hopeful about the plethora of recipes in the book and hopefully will successfully try a few of them.

Hope you like coconut!
I was unaware (clueless) of what gluten-free baking involved!Coconut is not my favorite flavor. Most involved more than one coconut ingredient-coconut flour, butter and oil were some. I found some ingredients that I, once again know nothing about-like almond butter. Almond milk I am familiar with, but that is about all. Some of the recipes used 2 or 3 different kinds of flour, a lot to have on hand.I got the book thinking I might offer a gluten-free alternative to baking goods.Unfortunately, because of my limited knowledge, I have not baked any of these recipes yet.Anyone who is used to baking gluten-free would probably LOVE this book because the recipes SOUND SO TASTY that they are hard to resist! I may have to research the ingredients and actually try a few! Trouble is, I don't know which to try FIRST!

BRILLIANT
This is the most incredible book for food allergy sufferers and people who have sensitive digestive systems. I only wish I’d found this sooner! Both my sons have multiple food allergies and I nearly cried when this book arrived and I realised they could have almost all of the recipes. It’s just never happened before and my son, aged 3.5, ate his first ever slice of cake last week :)None of the recipes rely on gluten-free ready-mixed plain or self-raising flours, which is BRILLIANT for people intolerant to food gums and corn/maize. Instead, most recipes start with a base of rice flour, almond flour and tapioca flour. There’s also hardly any oats in these recipes and only a few recipes with banana. None of the recipes use refined sugar - it’s either coconut sugar or maple syrup, which is perfect for my boys who struggle with sugar generally. This is definitely a specialist book - it’s probably a bit of a faff to bake this way if you don’t have to for medical or ethical reasons, but it has made SUCH a difference to the lives of my 2 little boys. However, I would say that if you can be bothered to buy the slightly more obscure ingredients than usual, the recipes are delicious - my husband (a very fussy eater) has wanted second helpings of everything I’ve made so far - and the recipes are relatively easy to follow. It has clearly been written by an excellent baker who knows a lot about food and nutrition.I’m so pleased I found it!
