Exactly what I needed to replace a fireplace speed control on my Napoleon fireplace insert. It appears to be exactly the same maker and model, which is good - as I was not able to find an OEM replacement from any supplier - but is bad, as the plastic shaft is what broke in the first place, and the soft plastic nut bezel has questionable hold on the speed nut (which cuts its own threads on first assembly - don't get it cross-threaded or repeat the assembly or the cylinder will be too chewed up to hold!) I'd pay more for a unit with a metal shaft and threaded metal mount. However, it's working well, was a perfect replacement and should hold up as long as the original before another broom breaks the knob off...

Worked perfectly.My previous one went bad because a wire came out of the plastic clip holder and the wire touched a couple inches higher up where it was too hot for the wire insulation. The insulation melted and shorted the wire to ground and made the controller go bad.So I made sure to properly position the wires on this new controller. So far it's working g great.

Great product, was an exact OE replacement part for my Jotul Rockland C550 wood burning stove insert. It is item #44 (Rheostat, Solid State Variable Speed part # 221787) on the parts schematic for your reference. Installed quickly and performance is back to normal. This is my first time replacing this component; owning the unit and using it all winter for the past 4 yrs. Not to shabby with the amount of use this control gets.Hope this helps, cheers!

Does what it is supposed to do on my wood stove blower with one significant caveat...Unstated in the instructions is that unless you install it with the switch turned off, you will burn out the switch. Most electrician and fireplace maintenance people are unaware of this "little" detail.If they must make a product with this instant burn out feature, the least they can do is include that "feature" in their instructions.

So far, so good. It was easy to install, and it functions as it should. No fuss. Would recommend it to others who need to replace the fan on their wood-burner. Paul R.

good product. It works well. But be warned: the shaft is NOT threaded so you cannot mount it in a panel hole.
