Wrong voltage!
This is for a 110V input voltage. India uses 220V. I shudder to think what would happen if mom had plugged it in! I'm returning it. 👎👎

sold in India but doesn't support India voltage
This product isn't meant for India and yet is available for purchase in India. The product description doesn't make this clear.

Power input not 220 volts package had been opened
The original packaging had been opened and poorly repackaged. It’s not clear if it works directly on 220 volts as it indicates120 V ac. So the utility of the product in 220 V May be clarified. I had received a call seeking information about the product and the lady was to call back when I mentioned the package appears to have been opened. She did not call back. I am unable to use the product because of these doubts.

Does not heat-up quickly, evenly. Multiple temperature setting is not useful
Slow heating is an issue. Also temperature is not evenly distributed. The temperature w.r.t each level mentioned at the manual inaccurate/incorrect. Can be used for slow and steady temperatures for a long duration.

To me the PureRelief was a WELCOME relief...
...and I absolutely LOVE it. With a considerable (oh MAN, do I use THAT term lightly!) level of pain after having had a Lumbar Fusion and Laminectomy (L-5/S-1) just over two years ago, it was time for a new heating pad. I'd been using a Thermophore 055 (and while there are many, MANY good things to say about that heating pad) this new one was such a great "AHHHHHHHHH" to come home to! It took me but seconds to whip this 'bad boy' out of the box, throw on the bed and hop right on top. It felt EXACTLY as I had imagined it would and even THEN some!We had just gotten home after a looooong day of leisure, but those of us with spine issues know that even those 'fun' days...especially when they are fully-packed, non-stop...seem to turn to agony pretty quickly. (Thank the LORD for Amazon and their Prime deliveries on Sundays!!! And this time a delivery that was scheduled for Monday actually arrived a day early! How in the WORLD did they know?!)I cranked it up to its highest setting of "6" to get started right away and the warmth started easing up my muscles within minutes. Now that I've used it several days I found that I love the plush fabric of the cover. Unlike my old Thermophore, it's extremely comfortable. And of course, not feeling any wires underneath your body is also a good thing, lol! The controls are large enough to see and very easy to use with a red light on/off indicator.Unlike many other folks who compare the size of the PureRelief to their old pads, this is just a bit smaller than the pad I'm used to using. As many others have mentioned, the one downside might be the temp. Thus far for me it's definitely been hot enough but to be honest, I've always warmed it up at "6" (the highest heat setting) and I don't remember ever once feeling the need to lower it. So I'm going to question if whether the PureRelief not getting hotter could potentially be a problem in the future. So far my PureRelief is more than perfect, so I'm happy to give it a 5-Star rating, but here's the thing. We've had some pretty fair weather around these parts and I haven't put on any warmer clothes yet. That's leads me to wonder if when I put on layers of thermal, fleece and/or heavier clothing if the heating element will actually BE enough to get through and for me to still experience the pad's therapeutic benefits. That remains to be seen, but I'm very excited and I have the HIGHEST expectations that the layers of clothing will pose no problem! Before I close I wanted to mention that unlike many of you reviewers, I DO plan to hang onto my old heating pad, my ancient workhorse the Thermophore #055. It's a different kind of heating pad which does have its merits and has served me well. I inherited it from my father-in-law way who passed away in 1998 and I've been using it exclusively ever since. This one DOES get killer hot (for all of you out there who want a hot, hot, HOT pad!) however for safety purposes you actually need to squeeze the 'trigger' and manually hold it down in order to generate the heat. As long as you hold the lever, the heat just keeps on coming and it'll get up to 176 degrees (so I'm told). The downside with this one is it's pretty much either 'feast or famine' with no constant. There's no control on it so there's never a consistent temperature at all. It's usually either too hot (while you're holding the lever 'til you can absolutely stand it no more!), or, it's cooling down when you let the button go. Still, there's much to be said. It gets blastin' hot and it'll attack those muscles for you, drawing moisture right out of the air. (You can get them here on Amazon and I see where they seem to have different models as well. They are made by 'Battle Creek'.) They are a perfect adjunct to...but NOT replacement for...the PureRelief! :)2/20/18 UPDATE: My PureRelief is still going strong, helping me with back pain relief whenever I need it. Just wanted to add that this wonderful heating pad gets PLENTY hot and then some. I've been cranking it all the way to "6" and then finding I need to lower it to be comfortable, so getting and keeping it warm enough in the winter is most definitely not a problem! So happy with it! :-)

Very happy
I purchased a different product. It was smaller it sometimes heated up on high and sometimes did not. I sent it back. This product is phenomenal. It is nice and hot. It doesn't have a fancy digital read out that doesn't make sense anyway, you're not looking at it. You're just pressing a button and it is extremely comfortable. Covers the whole back and the lower back all at the same time. I love the cord. The other cord was too short. This one is perfect so I have plenty of room to move it around. Especially when I'm in bed or even on the couch, great purchase.

Great for use in chairs
This heating pad works great on my desk chair (a Human Scale Freedom high-back)! I pull up the head rest, put the end of the heating pad under it, and push the head rest back down to hold it in place. Heat for my back while I work! There are many heating pads like this one on Amazon, probably all made in the same factory. I chose this one over the others based on its controller, which is the point of differentiation between them. This one:- Has 6 heat levels; some have only 3.- Has dedicated clicky buttons for power, temp up, temp down, and always-on/2 hour timer. These buttons make it easy to use in low light or even in the dark.- The buttons are big- When changing heat level, the display briefly lights up to show the new valueOther things I like:It’s *hot*! The temperature settings go to 6, but I so far have not gone above 4.It has a long cord, so I can wheel around in my desk chair,It also works pretty well in my recliner if I drape it over my back as I sit down; pressure then keeps it in place. The only negative is that it had a strong plasticky smell when I unboxed it. I suspect they all probably do, and it was gone after a day of use.I highly recommend this heating pad, it’s a great upgrade to my old one, which dates back to at least the seventies and probably the sixties :)
