Carhartt for the win!
This is an amazing jacket. I needed a nice, heavy winter jacket for the cold and windy coastal Santa Cruz weather after moving to college, so I wanted something that would keep me warm but also look cute. This jacket is exactly what I wanted. I get compliments almost every time I wear it and now all my friends want one!Pricing:I don’t usually spend more than $30 on clothing, but I really wanted this jacket, so I decided to splurge a little. Plus, Carhartt is a reliable brand, so I know it will last me a very long time. I looked into a few other brands (Dickies, Patagonia, etc.), but I felt that Carhartt was a better fit for what I was looking for. I considered getting a jacket from Dickies ($139.99) that was close to identical, but I decided to go with Carhartt ($109) because not only was it more cost-efficient, but it seemed warmer and more stylish as well.Pros:The jacket is nice and warm without being too heavy and goes with almost any outfit. I also love that Carhartt tends to look even better with a little wear and tear over time, unlike some other brands. This way I don’t have to treat it like a new pair of white shoes and be worried about getting a little scuff or dirt on it. It is extremely durable, so if that’s what you’re looking for, look no further!Potential Cons:You should be aware that when you first get the jacket it may feel bulky and tough, but it is easy to break in. I washed it a couple of times according to the instructions on the tag and it is much better now. It was a bit big on me (as I was expecting), so I threw it in the dryer after I washed it and it did shrink a little bit, but definitely not too much. For reference, I am 5’2 and 110 lbs and I got the mens small. It is still a little big on me even after shrinking it, but that’s exactly what I was aiming for. The zipper can be a little sticky at times, but it hasn’t been a big issue for me so far. One thing you should know is that it is not waterproof or water-resistant. I wore it in the rain once and the water soaked right through the outer shell. Still not a problem for me though! Just thought I’d mention it.Overall:Overall it's an amazing jacket and is one of my favorite clothing items that I own. I don’t know how I went all this time without it! High quality, plenty of pockets, comfy, warm and stylish. I definitely recommend getting this jacket!

Nice thick jacket
It’s a very nice quality, and heavy coat. It fits very nice and looks great. The zipper is smooth and the pockets are handy. In the cold it performs incredible keeping you warm.

Excellent cold weather jacket
As expected, this jacket fits a little on the large side. Since it's loose-fitting, it will be easy to layer clothes underneath it when the weather is extremely cold. It's not often extremely cold in my part of the country so I won't have to do this much. Around here, temperatures seldom dip into the low 20 degree F range and it has been no colder than freezing since I bought this jacket. I've been wearing my jacket with a tee shirt and I've been comfortable, even in a strong wind. When the temperature is in the 50 degree range, this jacket is still comfortable when unzipped. The lining is soft--very soft and nice to the touch. The hand warmer pockets are nice to have but they're unlined...wear gloves if you want to really keep your hands warm. The material is Carhartt's cotton duck which is thick, stiff and wind resistant. It's also very tough material so it will stand up to abrasion and lots of hard wear. The hood is fully functional and warm since it's quilt-lined like the body of the jacket. However, the hood is bulky and the material is stiff so it stands up pretty tall even when down. I usually wear a hat with a full brim when outside and that simply doesn't work well with the hood. When down, hood interferes with the rear section of the brim. When up...well, a hat is simply out of the question. I have noticed the material in the hood has gotten a little softer with time and wear so it may eventually allow me to go back to wearing a hat. Until then, it's a baseball cap for me--just like everyone else.I haven't worn this jacket in the rain so I don't know how water repellant it is. I have another Carhartt jacket--a chore coat--and it is not water repellant whatsoever. A spraying with Scotchguard should improve water repellency if it's to be worn while working in the rain and snow.If I were going to improve the jacket in any way, I guess I would add insulation in the handwarmer pockets. I would also make the hood detachable so guys like me could wear their hats from the get-go. Neither of these points are deal-breakers. This is an excellent work or play jacket for cold weather wear.

Wonderful coat - comfy, warm, quality. Best gift a parent could give to a college student.
As others have said the product was a size down than normal. I typically wear medium things and got the small. The waist is perfect especially with the taper from the cloth ruffles. The sleeves stop at the waist and the cuff things go 2” past so also perfect. The jacket is very warm. I wear it alone down to freezing maybe a bit lower, with just a t shirt. The jacket is a bit stiff in materials and it is very spacious despite being a small (read: I could fit another jacket and sweatshirt UNDER it; and could not fit the Carharrt under my winter parka because it was so Volumeous). I love it. It looks smells feels works great. Inner and outer pockets are spacious and wonderful. The velcro sticks to the inner material which makes me regret the quilted design. The zipper is kinda poopy in that it doesn’t zip/unzip very well, as well as feeling kinda plasticy. I’ve ripped a fingernail on it by not being careful and hurt my cuticles a few times. Here’s my ratings. In terms of this being my first carhartt, I am 10/10 satisfied with it. I’m so happy to have something so sturdy, warm, fashionable, and fun to wear.In terms of understanding the quality behind things - I feel guilty giving it less than a 10 but the zipper is kinda dumb and the velcro pocket isn’t my favorite. So we’ll say 8/10 on those regards. If we factor in delivery and packaging and presentation out of bag (no loose or torn threads; the material isn’t creased; it loosens up some in flexibility) then I’d give it a 10/10.I love my new coat. Will upload pictures shortly.

Great jacket
I will start by saying carhartt products generally fit one size larger. I normally wear a medium jacket, i ordered a size small and it fits perfectly. The jacket looks great, its durable, and warm. Because its such a thick material its definitely stiff when its new, this changes over time as you work it in. Same goes with the zipper, its heavy duty so it requires some elbow grease to zip up when its new. Tip, pull the bottom of the jacket down when you zip up, it just works.Dont base your opinion on the jacket in the first week or two of wearing it, wear it and let the materials soften etc. this type of jacket will last you many years.5/5 product, i would recommend it to anyone considering. Worth the money 100%

La talla si es exactamente como en la descripción, un poco más grande e atrevo a decir, es muy cómoda y extremadamente calentita la recomiendo enormemente.

Really great jacket. Hood is a little small
Solid jacket. I am 5'10 and 175lbs, 41" chest, medium fits nicely with room for a thick hoodie underneath. Posting this because the sizing was the biggest issue with this purchase. Ordered the large and it was really big. I think the large would be too big even if I was using it for work as a carpenter. The only issue is the hood. It's a little smaller than it should be for functional use.
