Covenants Made Simple: Understanding God’s Unfolding Promises to His People

I consider myself an advanced reader in covenants. I am no expert but fairly familiar with the territory. This book is a great example for people, typically from the west, who need introduction idea of covenant. We live a modern world of consumers while the Biblical language is saturated in the world of covenants. I consider this book an example of how a good writer can make difficult ideas accessible. I applaud the author. I rarely give five stars. Sometimes this book went into the weeds but that is a nuance of the debate reserved for scholars.

I had never heard of this author before, but love the way he teaches fundamentals in a clearly understandable (and often humorous) manner. I'm not a theologian, and so appreciate authors like Jonty who communicate so well to the rest of us.

This book is an excellent primer to introduce the concepts of Covenant Theology. It is concise without giving short-shift to the concepts, and simple enough to be understandable to those new to Reformed theology. The section on the New Covenant could be beefed up a bit, but the book is otherwise a very useful gateway to more academic works on this subject.

This is one of the clearest, fascinating, and edifying books I've ever read on Covenant Theology. If anyone is to read this book they will love Christ, his Church, and his Covenants more.I will recommend (and even buy for some) this book to everyone I know!

Great wee book. Very helpful to me in my studies.

Had to preach a sermon on 2 of the covenants and not having delved into them much before this book was ideal and inspirational. The style of writing was easy to understand - some funny quips and illustrations too. All in all, if you want to see how Old Testament Covenants worked and how they are relevant today in a quick easy to read style, get this book.
