New Orleans Vampires: History and Legend (Haunted America)

Very interesting and a fun read all the way through. Not what I was expecting but the stories were amazing

bought for daughter she said it was a quick read but awesome story would recommend

I was looking for inspiration and decided to read this book based on vampire tales that originated in New Orleans. I found the stories interesting. I've read quite a few books on vampires, but I'd never heard of these stories about The Casket Girls, Comte De St. Germain, and the Carter Brothers. As I was reading them, I could almost sense the mystery and spookiness of the Quarter. The author's own vampire encounter gave me chills. As an added bonus, there is a bibliography at the end for further reading. Highly recommended for anyone who loves well-researched vampire tales.

Very decent read.

I bought this book after hearing Mrs Crandle being interviewed on a podcast (sounds like "e on the blarkness") I listen to.The interview was good and Mrs Crandle was entertaining.That being said the book doesn't really cover anything more than what I heard in the podcast.Most author interviews hold some things back from the audience so there are a few surprises but the interview I heard covers all three stories in the book and the incident with the gentleman in the store.This isn't me saying the book was bad, I just wish that there had been either more stories or more held back in the interview.If I had known this was going to be the case I wouldn't have purchased the book.

this book is Very interesting. Artful photos. Many facts and falsehoods revealed and falsehoods. Purposefully well researched. It is easily a fun read. Really fascinating. Enjoyable.

Good book, Gave us some good ideas where to go on our trip to mardi gras.

Very much enjoyed this book. The encounter of every story and other Historians advice was genuine.NOLA is a city that is captivating and always makes you want more.I can't wait to come back and visit the store
