GREAT WITH MODIFICATIONS
First off I’ve been looking at this product for a while. The Kreg jig I was using ended up melting around the bit destroying a couple doors. After researching a bit it looked like the Blum Ecodrill was the best option for a mobile hinge boring jig.The product works great besides dust collection. The chips were getting clogged in the housing of the jig. I ended up CAREFULLY drilling a 1 1/2” hole in the front of the jig and added some electrical conduit to act as a dust port. The Festool hose fits perfectly with the added dust collection and the jig is literally flawless now. I would purchase again.

Outstanding boring jig
Incredibly easy to use and extremely accurate. Yes it may seem a bit pricy but when you are boring a cabinet door that comes close to the cost of the jig the assurance of a perfect bore makes this a real bargain. I am a retired cabinet maker with 50+ years experience and have used Blum products since 1985 and have always been delighted with the engineering and quality of their products. This is no exception. This was used in the modification of a 30" high IKEA wall cabinet. Cut down to 24" to go over a refrigerator rather than adding a 4" spacer to the bottom of a 20" high cabinet. I cut 6" off the top of the cabinet & door, bored the door for the top hinge, popped it in and presto, 1 and done! At $180.00 per door I wanted it right the 1st time!As I no longer have my lovely Blum hinge boring and insertion machine I had considered asking a local cabinet shop to bore the doors for me. When I considered the time, effort and cost, as opposed to using this jig, I feel this paid for itself already.

Awesome - Well Engineered
I purchased the Ecodrill as my wife wanted to renew the look of our kitchen. In an effort to save money we decided to buy new doors directly from the manufacturer, however before doing do I wanted to make sure I could drill the holes required to re-use the 90 existing Blum hinges with a regular power drill. The Ecodrill made this a piece of cake. While the instructions that come with the Ecodrill are OK, they are not all that necessary as the unit is very intuitive to use. It drills the main 35mm hinge hole and the two adjacent 8mm holes for Blum plastic dowels for the hinge screws or it can drill the main 35mm hole and mark the screw locations if the hinge screws go directly into the door.I highly recommend the Ecodrill for anyone needing to drill accurate and precise holes for Blum or other similar style hinges.

Kinda pricey but works well
If you do a lot of hinges this is worth the price. This thing is built really well and should last forever. A dust collection port would be a nice addition as wood shavings tend to get stuck inside. If you need a more budget friendly option Kreg makes a nice jig for about $30. It is plastic and will eventually wear out but I got by with one for years before upgrading to the Blum unit.

Great Jig that is Well Designed and Works as Advertised
This is a wonderful investment if you have many cabinet hinges to install. It is constructed with quality and it is thoughtfully designed to be self contained and simple to use. I used it to replace poor contractor hinges with Blum and this made it easy. Make sure you understand all of your measurements and choices for your particular hinge and set up accordingly. Testing on a piece of scrap is a wise choice to get comfortable with it and truly understand the settings. I used it on multiple types of Blum hinges and it worked perfectly every time.

beautifuly built, easy to use tool
I have struggled to install Blum hinges to years. I install less than a 100 hinges a year so never wanted to invest in the expensive Blum drill and press system. This device has solved my situation. It is very well built and easy to use. Blum makes great hardware and tools. Invest in the best, swallow the bullet and you won't be disappointed.

So disappointed.
This is an extremely expensive jig that simply doesn't perform as needed. It gets packed tight with shavings after every hole and they have to be dug out. Add to that consistent issues with tearout at the back edge of the cup and this is not at all pro level.
