Worth the Purchase
I am an amature baker trying to up my skills. I was having a lot of issues with my cakes having really high domes. I purchased these strips after seeing a review for them on another site. Since the purchase I have had no issues with cake doming. My cakes are so much easier to stack without having to cut them down.

Really does work
I use these when baking cakes, brownies, and breads and they really do work for even baking. No more overbaked edges and underbaked centers. Highly recommended. Just a word of caution about the double loop closure used to secure and tighten the strip around the bake pan. The loops can be a bit challenging to handle when wet and can weaken and easily tear. So I always loosely thread the strip thru the loops prior to soaking the strip and then, when wet, just tighten the strip around the pan.

Cake Saver!
I forgot I purchased these years ago. Went to the cellar to get some vanilla I made for a cake I was baking and found these in a box with some cake pans. My cake is leveled and even in color! No need to cut the top because there is no peak.

They work. There’s definitely a learning curve for them but it’s not too hard. It does help bake cakes nicer.

They Work
I received these from Amazon and used them the same day! Cake layers rose up the sides of the pan and baked evenly. I did not have to try to level the batter in the pans, and there was NOT A LUMP IN THE MIDDLE OF THE LAYERS! I did not use parchment paper in the bottom of the pans, as I usually do; I just LIGHTLY greased with Crisco and LIGHTLY floured the pans. Layers came out cleanly. I soaked the strips in water for 5 minutes as directed before using. I am considering using two colors of permanent ink markers to mark the placement of the loop for 8-inch and 9-inch round pans so that I can pre-position the loops before wrapping the pans, because it takes a bit of maneuvering to tighten and fasten the wet strips around the pans. Buy this!

Best if used on round pans with straight walls
The shipping on the item was good, it arrived on time. The most effective way to use these strips is to use them on a round cake pan with straight walls (just like in the product picture). I was able to use it on a square, straight walled pan 12" x 18". I had used heating cores on the square pan, those seemed to have more influence on preventing the middle from puffing up than the strips. There aren't any directions on how to hook multiple strips up, so it takes a minute to figure out the best way to connect them. I could not figure out a way how to wrap a pan with slanted walls with these strips so that the strips are flat against the wall. If the strips aren't flat against the walls, its doesn't seem to be very effective.I fit the strips around the pan while it is dry, then soak them and slip it right on the pan. Its a lot easier to make adjustments when the strips are dry. Its very important to put the strips in a bowl of water to soak. I put them in water and squeeze the air out of the strips. Then I lightly squeeze out any excess water, so its not dripping. Placing the strips under running water will not soak the strips.I've used these at temperatures up to 400F for as long as 50 minutes. After a dozen uses, there has been some slight browning on the edges. After 6 months of use, the material is still soft, the product effectivenes is still the same and doesn't have any burn spots from continued use.The strips are a good help with the baking of the cake edges. To keep the center of the cake as flat as possible, heating cores seem to be more effective. The product works good on 8" or smaller round straight walled pans. This is a good product, but its scope of where it works in the wide world of baking pan varieties is very limited. So if you bake with a lot of odd shaped pans or pans with slanted walls, these strips are not recommended. I'm glad I got the strips, but its good to know its limitations.

Good product
I haven’t used this too often but when I do I like it.It does what it says it will and prevents the baked cake rising up too high in the centre of the pan. When the cake has finished baking it is level andmakes it easier to stack and ice without having to carve off slices to make it sit level.It comes as 2 pieces and I have used it around larger pans just by velcroing together to make one large pup.

Perfekt
Ich habe eine wichtige Torte gebacken: die für die Party meines Kindes. Die musste also gut und vor allem gerade werden. Dafür habe ich diese Strips gekauft und auf zwei recht großen Springformen verwendet.Ich bin einfach nur überglücklich, sagen zu können, dass die Torte perfekt wurde. Und diese Strips haben einen elementaren Anteil daran geleistet. Eine Investition, die sich auszahlt!
