The lift works pretty good, used it a few times to go up and down with a 170 pound chandelier and worked well. I like the idea of ability to change bulbs/clean easily and its a better option that pulling up the chandelier with ropes on a 20 feet attic.The packaging did not look sturdy and the dust cover came broken.You open up the install guide, all you see is "don't do this, the light will fall" .e.g. if you bring down the cable within 5 feet of max stretch, it may reverse spin and cause damage.. why would the design like that? why cant they put a simple stopper at that length?I chose to install my self since I did not want someone working inside the house for a few hours with the current pandemic situation.The 14 gauge line supposed to be connected to motor, but it was connected to light switch that gave me a bad start.- second surprise with installation was, it needs 8 inches height over the sheetrock, typically the studs are about 3-4 inches, had to visit home depot a few times to get some wood and hardware, but that's manageable, If I had to design I wouldn't mandate this height.-the conduit plate comes with a weak plastic screw that broke easily, fortunately they gave a spare, but the design could be easily improved there, it could a click on lock plate-the wire connectors or metal clip type that easily comes off, They could have made it something similar to ethernet cable that locks in place , at least on the conduit box that's not easily reachable once installedAfter the installation, the motor didn't start , all I heard was a click sound. Checked the power supply with a tester and it all looked good. Since I read few comments about nice tech support, I thought I would call instead of wasting my precious time. They are not open on weekends, so I had to wait , took half a day off from work and called.From starting the tech support person did not sound very enthusiastic to work with me , may be because its friday afternoon or he didn't like my accent and was very unprofessional and tried to question my knowledge. he asked me to find a few tiny cables with the word black motor on it, since I was on the attic I and the lighting was not perfect, I took extra one minute to find it and he went to strict professor mode right away.He said he cannot work with me and I don't have the skills , I was wondering how would I convince him that I am an engineer who designed and built and aircraft control system ? Yes, I got a new multimeter on which I didn't read the manual yet, but i called right away since I didn't want to wait another weekend.. Had to deal with very unprofessional and belligerent support person..I dropped of and did some basic checks and called him again, he wanted to strictly go by the book steps , but unfortunately the book didn't say to check all wires that came off either due to bad design or due to bad assembly..It turned out to be a loose wire in the conduit plate , but we had to check the voltage level and every pin inside the board :-)overall I like the product but for the very bad experience with tech support

Nothing bad to say. Easy to install. People at the Aladdin company are very helpful. No phone system, a real person actually answers the phone and they get the right person to answer the question. VERY RARE today! I would definitely get the controller that automatically let's it come down and stops. Nice improvement over the last one I bought 20 years ago. Key switch is a pain. They told me so, but opted not too. Going to be ordering this week, have some bulbs to change already.

Along with the 3 lifts 300 lbs I bought, I also bought the 3 Lumtopia-Aladdin_SL_Controller-SmartLift-Controller-Touch/, however the controllers came with out the keys!!!! so how am I supposed to work them without the proper keys???

Lift was easy to install and adjust. Used for access to entry way chandelier in eighteen foot ceiling. Very satisfied owner.

Arrived as expected. Haven’t installed it yet but I’m sure it good.

As an electrical contractor I use a number of these lifts a year, just installed 2 1000 pounders! Aladdin makes the only lift I would install. BAsed on ease of installation, quality and smart design and we have never had a call back on one in 30 years!
