The Lost Book of the White (The Eldest Curses)

Plenty of Action, soul searching, friendship and heart to hearts in this story.
Magnus Bane and Alec Lightwood have finally settled into their life together as they share their home with their adopted warlock son Max. They have found some peace, well as much as they can find when dealing with Shadowhunters, Mundanes and Downworlders daily.Unfortunately, that peace is short-lived and two old colleagues of Magnus break into their apartment to steal the Book of White which Magnus was keeping safe as it contains dangerous powerful spells. As Magus fights to protect the book he is stabbed with a mysterious weapon as the thieves escape.Magnus and Alec are forced to leave Max with Alec's mother Maryse to cope with her magical grandson, while they hightail it through a portal to Shanghai to retrieve the Book. With the help of Jace, Clary, Isabelle and newly minted Shadowhunter Simon, they link up with the local Shadowhunters and Downworlders to discover the book's whereabouts. Magnus' powers grow unstable and as they try to counter this problem, they are constantly attacked by various demons across the city of Shanghai. As all clues point them in the direction of the source of these demon attacks, the gang must venture into the underworld to cure Magnus' powers, find the book and stop the demon threat. But betrayal from an ally may lead to Magnus losing his human side altogether and becoming fully demonic. Can Magnus and Alec's love endure this disastrous situation? Can they all make it through this final battle when everything is stacked against them?🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 Any story featuring Magnus Bane, especially with Alec, is awesome. I love how much love, support and respect Magnus and Alec have for each other and how their relationship and life together have blossomed and continue to grow. This story gave us a glimpse into the domestic side of their lives while also showcasing how important the pair have become to Shadowhunter/Downworlder relations. They are the consummate power couple. Plenty of Action, soul searching, friendship and heart to hearts in this second instalment of the Eldest Curses series.

Amazing
The books is even more beautiful in hardcover. The slipcase has two faces, one with the regular cover and inside the illustrated version. There is some damage at the edges from transit.

Annoying alignment
I havent read it yet. This is purely for the cover of the book. It really bugged me because the writing on the spine and back wasnt aligned properly. A bit frustrated

An outstanding read, the second of the Eldest Curses books
If I could give this book twenty stars I would. It’s completely flawless.I love everything about the shadowhunters world that Cassie Clare has created. This one sees Magnus,Alec,Jace,Clary,Izzy and Simon go to Shanghai in order to track down some demon activity. Without giving anything away a friend from the past appears and an enemy. The one great thing about this group is that they’ll literally go to hell and back for each other.

Amazing..
I love all of Cassandra Clares books. Also, Holly Black and Sarah Maas. I was amazed by Cassandras fresh ideas about Angels, Werewolves, Vampires, and Faeries. Some books I have read by other authors have the same tired out storylines with the same tired out view of the supernatural. Not Cassandra. I have reread all her books several times and always love each one. I highly recommend them.

Great Love Story
It's a great continuation of Alec's and Magnus's story. If Alec and Magnus are your favourite characters as they are for me, you would love this next volume of The Eldest Curses. I can't wait for volume 3
