Kellam KLKPW3-BRK Wolverine Pro

The quality of Kellam's knives has dropped significantly. I was very disappointed with the knife. I may be more discerning that some, and some may consider me to be picky, but I wanted to post this for others to see and make their own decision. First I'd like to cite a very nice review of this knife at frontierbushcraft dot com by Stuart Dart of the Kellam Wolverine. The review was written about six and a half years ago in 2014. They have excellent photos which helped me decide to buy this knife.The following is what I find lacking in comparison to the earlier version.1) Worst was the pummel. It was ground down "smooth" in an amateurish fashion. It also appears that the surrounding brass ring was more beaten on to squish it against the tang rather than their former excellent work of peening the tang over the brass ring. Please see the pictures in the review I referenced. Their craftsmanship really showed back then, and this alone made me decide to return the knife.2) The spacer between the handle and hilt is almost non existent.3) The blade now appears to be laser engraved, not stamped, and done so lightly that the bottom of their logo is not visible.4) The polishing of the ground edge was uncontrolled and travelled up onto the blade's heat treated patina area in several spots.5) The blade was not ground evenly between the left and right side.Some variation is expected with hand finished products but there is a drastic difference between what they used to produce and their current quality.Looks like I'll be hunting for an old one.Hope this helps out someone else.

A beautifully crafted knife. Pictures don't do this the credit it's owed. Razor sharp, balanced weight, and built to last. I will certainly be buying from Kellam Knives again.
