Kellam Wolverine
I purchased this knife because I already had a Kellam Puukko which I really like and expected the Wolverine to be another really fine knife, and it certainly is. However, I expected the handle to be somewhat smaller and shaped slightly differently than the Puukko model from reviews I had read about both knives. It appears that Kellam might have changed things a bit and the handle on the Wolverine is almost exactly the same size and shape as the handle on my Puukko. My two knives are virtually identical except that the blade of the Wolverine is a bit more polished on the spine and is marked as being Kellam's SPT tempered blade, which means the edge has been tempered to a higher hardness than the spine, something which is done on many custom knives. There have been some negative reviews on this model but mine is faultless. It's razor sharp and fit and finish is exceptional. A beautiful, well made knife.

but it was easy to correct with some diamond stones followed by some ...
Hold an edge very well. The handle fits the hand well and doesn't create any hotspots. I primarily use this knife for carving/whittling and utility(cutting rope, opening packages, etc) while I'm backpacking. The grind was slightly uneven at the tip, but it was easy to correct with some diamond stones followed by some whetstones. The knife does very well at whittling, and the edge geometry creates a very sharp edge with the differential hardening the edge holds well even at such a shallow angle. The sheath is nice, I haven't had any problems like others have described with it falling apart, I oiled the inside and out to prevent it from causing my blade to rust as well as keeping the leather in good condition. The one thing that prevented me from giving this a 5 star review is the fact that the blade has some wiggle room in the handle. Maybe the handle shrank from the dry air up here, but its still bothersome especially because I've oiled this handle pretty generously since I've own the knife. it doesn't move around in the handle a whole lot but its noticeable in the hand, not enough to really cause any issues with the usability of the knife but I'm definitely worried that it could become worse.

Knife blade
I was a little disappointed the high RC rating was on such a small portion of the knife. I am afraid to sharpen it for fear of wearing the hard edge off. Also, about 3/4 of an inch of the sharpened blade had been bumped or ground off because it was jagged for that much of the blade and appeared to have been misused even though it was supposed to be new. They sent me the wrong (and cheaper) knife at first that looked the same. I didn't like that.

smaller than the Fang and perfect
Smaller than the Fang. Is perfect for smaller hands, or, me when I want to carve small things. Wonderful. Same old world quality as the Fang. really the puukko and the wolverine are the EXACT same knife as far as I can tell. Both spectacular. This is carbon steel too.... I really favor these over the Helle - and I REALLY respect and use the Helle as well. I prefer the carbon steel. Helle are great! These are different and they are great.

Horrible Service!!!!!
Let me start by saying that I never used the knife. I'm giving it only one star because of the service I received from the seller KnifecountryUSA. I received the item in a timely manner. No problem there. However, when I opened the package and inspected the knife, I noticed a few issues. First, the bevel was off at the tip by more than 1/4" (the grind was uneven from one side to the other). Normally not such a huge deal, as it is mainly cosmetic. Second, there was pitting in the softer steel close to the spine. This is an issue. I know that the knife is unfinished carbon, so I wasn't expecting a mirror finish, but pitting on a new knife is unacceptable. I contacted KnifecountryUSA and explained the problem and inquired about possible courses of action. (I have read other reviews for this knife and believe it is a solid performer, and the handle is extremely comfortable). I thought maybe they would offer to send a replacement. Perhaps this one slipped through the cracks of Kellam's quality control. Or maybe someone would inquire about the quality, which seems out of the ordinary from such a reputable seller. Nope. All I received was an impersonal email outlining the return policy, highlighting the fact that I am responsible for shipping and a 20% restocking fee!! A 20% restocking fee on an unused, poorly manufactured product. I find this completely unacceptable and Amazon should address this issue. If you're set on the knife I believe I got a bad apple, I would just get it from a more customer oriented seller!!!!! Just in case...

i like the knife its very nice and compact
i like the knife its very nice and compact and attractive as well, the blade is not as sharp as i had imagined reading other reviews, i gave 3 stars because the sheath failed me on the second day of carrying it and i lost the knife in the woods when the drop loop failed me, i was lucky enough to find it after hours of looking..i would have happily paid a little extra to get a functional sheath...im also not a big fan of kellam putting their name on an Ahti made puukko, or kellam denying that the SPT blade on the wolverine is a Lauri PT blade..The Scandi Grind is also slightly uneven, not enough for me to complain about it though..
