Best book ever.
This might be the best book ever written. Better by far than the Bible.

Systematic Innovation: An Introduction to TRIZ
The book is really an overview of the TRIZ, it is not too academic, so it is ease to understand.Comparing with the original form of TRIZ, it shows that there are just made some adaptations to make it easier to work with it.But in some sections it could be somewhat deeper and show the way to go.I is good book that must been read with other os the same theme to give a broader view of the TRIZ.

A Practical Guide for a TRIZ Beginner
This was a very useful guide on a very interesting theory. I liked the examples Dr. Terninko used help illustrate the principle behind TRIZ. I think Dr. Terninko is one of the best writers on the subject of Design For Six Sigma. He goes into great detail on how to perform TRIZ. The book is the basis for the training materials I've used in my DFSS class. If you want to start using TRIZ in your product design, but don't know what it's about -- THIS IS YOUR BOOK!

Completely fullfills its promise.
This book is subtitled "An Introduction to TRIZ" and it completely lives up to this promise. It gives a brief history of TRIZ, states very systematically how to apply TRIZ and also has all the necessary tools to implement TRIZ. Sure enough, a 200 page book does not replace a multiple day course. Nevertheless, this is the first book I've read on TRIZ and I feel very confident that I understand and can apply TRIZ. I am charmed by the concept and will continue to explore it further. I found this book to be a very decent intro, provided you start off with an eagerness to learn, but that goes for all books on concepts/techniques/processes.

Decent Intro but...
Systematic Innovation is a pretty good introduction to TRIZ. It's treatment of contradiction and ideality was adequate and the section of system modeling was quite good. While the chapters on problem formulation were a noble attempt they fell short of providing a roadmap to the application of TRIZ (a common failing in TRIZ books). However, I can't leave without saying that the graphics in the book are so poor as to border on the obnoxious.Matthew

Excellent introductory book for the implementation of TRIZ.
There are several wonderful reference books on the theory and background of TRIZ. This book, however, is one of only a few that leads the reader "Step-by-Step" through the process of actually implementing this powerful method.I applaud John Terninko in recognizing the need for such a reference for those of us struggling with using the theory that the other books have taught us.

Sehr gute Beschreibung, ein Bisschen alt/Very good description, a little bit old
It is a very interesting point of view about TRIZ, not the most up to date. There are details you cannot find in the frst Altshuller's books.
