I have used a previous model of the A40 TR's with my Xbox and PC for the past 8 years or so, replacing only due to the fact it was starting to show it's age, and was on the way to coming apart a littleSo after such longvity and reliability I was more than happy to invest in a more recent model of the same headsetA few months in and quite honestly it's almost exactly what I was expectingThe headset itself, as far as I can tell, is the same in every way except for the colour - black instead of whiteClassic and well known Astro aesthetic and adjustable headband, doesn't feel like a head clamp and easily the most comfortable, softest ear cups I've usedGreat build quality, the microphone from what I've been told sounds better on the other end of conversationThe mix amp is much nicer, a simple switch to change between PC and Xbox, and the voice and sound dials are larger and feel well made with some slight resistance as you adjust them.Sound quality for game audio is great, clear and can be fine tuned using the EQ's preset or custom - though I'm yet to delve into that with this headset, it was very easy on previous models with the PC application, I'm sure it's the same or similar nowMy only real gripe is with the the mic cable from headset to mix ampThis model has a cheap and flimsy feeling slider switch to mute the mic, it gets caught in furniture and clothing and easily muted with out much notice.If it weren't for the fact that the mix amp lights go red when muted, I may not have noticed instantly.The old style cables were much nicer, with a soft touch plastic and button to mute rather than sliderIt does feel like this was an area costs were cutIt's a minor annoyance but the negative to a what is a fantastic headset in my opinionEven if this headset only lasts half as long as the last one, I'll still be content with the value for money, I would and do recommend to others

Up until now I have been quite loyal to a brand that favours green snakes but I will be buying Astro sets from now on.Absolutely premium product in terms of materials, sound quality and even packaging. Easy to set up with the support of the guides in box and online. The inclusion of Dolby Atmos (2 year licence) is nice and adds to the product but the main thing is the comfort and sound output.Im not an audiophile but the sound is immense for FPS games and gives me the immersion and experience I have been after. The headset is comfortable for decent play sessions and the wire system is generous allowing you to use the headset without feeling tangled or restricted.Cant speak highly enough of quality from headset itself with easily removable mic, magnetic panels and pads right down to the quality box / packaging.I don't use the streaming or additional functions of the mixup but the ability to quickly change set ups, profiles and volume mix via this component is excellent. A great little add-on that offers a great deal of flexibility and function and is a cracking add in to the set up.I have had most of the well known headset brands and this one is by far the best, buy with confidence you wont regret it.
