Great classic in comic book format.
Got this for my 2 grandsons, one in 4th grade and one in 7th and they both loved reading this classic in comic book format.

Graphic adaptation of a classic, explore one mans plunge into madness. Illustrations do a good job of portraying a slow descent into loss of mind and paranoia. The classic by Poe is interpreted for a young adult audience, complete with questions at the end to provoke reflection.

MISSING KEY SCENE from original story by Poe - *Spoiler Alert*
This graphic novel is missing a key scene from the original short story; thus providing for the possibility of a completely different outcome! The graphic novel is done extremely well other than missing ONE key scene! SPOILER ALERT: The man's fall into madness includes murder; however, this graphic novel leaves the possibility that maybe the murder was not quite completed? Did he hear a beating of the actual heart from the body under the floor? It is quite possible that he did...in this book! In Poe's actual story there is no possible way for the body to beat any longer (it was not in one piece).

Great
Classic story, very descriptive and told by a narrator with a twisted state of mind which is oddly very intruiging.

Tell-Tale Heart
The graphic novel version of this poem is very lack luster, it doesn’t hold the same effect as the poem. Even with the illustrations it does not help the movement and flow of the original poem.

Graphic novel review
This would be a great resource for the classroom however I feel like the scene from the original short story of the narrator meeting with the police did not translate well with what the authors of the graphic novel chose to do with it. Overall I love Poe so the story itself is a 5 but the execution in the graphic novel is a 3.5 for me.
