Washer Start Capacitor 189-227 MFD uF 125V AC Compatible for Whirlpool Kenmore

Just what I need to fix our washer.

When things go wrong...they go all the way. My start cap on the washer could not fail at the end of a cycle...no, it had to fail with a tub full of wet clothes. After getting all that out and drained, the problem was easy to find; one of the connection blades on the cap broke off. The next morning, I went to 3 different appliance "parts and repair" stores to get one, not one to be found ( parts centers that do not carry common failure parts ) they could all order one from prices starting at $54.95 up to $99.95 and it would take 1 to 2 weeks to get....no thanks. While standing at the parts counter I found this one on amazon, and immediately ordered it. Now two days after ordering it, I am catching up on laundry, and my washer works great! The old cap did test bad, and had apparently been failing for quite some time, because now the washer is quieter and does does not dim the lights when the motor kicks on. Six loads of laundry and starting on number seven and the washer acts like it is a new one. Very happy with the purchase. The only "complaint" I have on the part is the double prong connectors, instead of 2 single blade connectors there are two sets of two; so when everything is connected you have two exposed points sticking out in space so I covered the spare set with heat shrink tubing.... it is not really needed because there is nothing in the shroud that can contact it... but it was just a safety concern. Other than that little issue I am very happy with the replacement part, and this company will be my go to if I ever need to replace a start cap on anything else I have.

absolutely perfect part. when ordering a capacitor,make sure the specs are correct. the MFD numbers are crucial. if you get one with numbers that are too low it likely will not work. just make sure you get the correct one and it's easy. be sure not to touch the connectors with your bare hands when removing the old one...you could get a shock. just don't touch both connectors at the same time.

I know But the new one worked for a minute then blew up the old one was bad

Washer died with a tub full of water, siphoned the water out. Took the cabinet apart, the old capacitor looked corroded. Replaced with this one and the washer works again. Great fix.
