Is it tough to put on by yourself? Yes. But it is definitely doable if I sit on the bed so that the waist/chest strap is behind and around me before I put my arm in. So far I don't see the point of the strap over the shoulder. And it doesn't cause the pain in the neck that a sling does which makes a huge difference to me.It's a good thing there's a photo on Amazon to refer to for how to put it on. For the most part it is intuitive (as in only the place where you put your wrist is permanently positioned, otherwise how could it be used for either side) but I think not including a measly piece of paper with a photo is poor.Overall though it's comfortable - I can sleep just fine with it and it keeps my shoulder in exactly the place it should be which for a side sleeper like me is extremely helpful.

after tweeking this item to fit my needs it worked out wonderful. the band around the middle was way to wide and with it being summer time, way to hot. i cut it down and just used the hand attachment without the shoulder and arm piece. this kept my shoulder from rotating so it worked out perfect. problem was i had a frozen shoulder and so keeping it from moving only made my situation worse.

My doctor was impressed!!! I used the abduction pillow from the sling I got from surgery, and put the pillow inside the waist belt!!!! Got the correct angle to relieve stress off the rotator cuff and soo comfortable and secure to sleep on my side, and stomach. No pull on shoulders, and my shoulders are always straight and not under stress with a sling!!!! I only wish the velcro would last longer. I have bought 3 to be prepared!! Thanks again!!!

well made and would be perfect except that the large padded forearm piece is not removable as the description implies and is extremely large. took 9 days to ship so I will keep it and eventually cut off the forearm piece when I get more mobility.

When you have to sleep in a chair for 6 weeks, the last thing you need is to have something strapped to your chest constricting your breathing even more than not being able to be active. Also, the hand drooped which is not healthy. Just look at hers in the picture, she's holding it up, not the sling.

got this one to try while sleeping but didn't work so well, may be better in daytime. Bicep part barely reaches waist belt.

This shoulder immobilizer does just what it's supposed to do and is very effective at it. All Corflex products that I've used have been of very good quality and I am glad they are available through Amazon.

I must have bought the wrong size cause it was to small, and my arm heal faster than expected so I was not able to use it. However it seem like would fit and help a smaller body.
