Catechism of Saint Pius X

If you are looking for quick answers to most catholic questions to understand catholic beliefs, this is a great reference. Don't expect long theological answers, but there are other resources for that. Stay away from the heretical modern catechisms. The St. Pope Pius X catechism even tells you if you receive a protestant bible, you should burn it! God Bless St. Pope Pius X for defending the faith.

Easy reading. Meant for the lay person.

The book arrived in excellent shape and the print inside is easy to read for those who can read normal sized print. My wife told me this book is easy to get through and understand.

This small but powerful catechism has everything both a cradle and convert Catholic needs to know and take to heart about Catholicism. Often I found mysel thinking, "When, if ever, have I heard this preached or taight?" Sadly, not very often. However, it's never too late to (re-)learn the faith that sustained Catholics for 1960 years before Vatican Ii. The "dark ages" weren't dark at all.

Hey, Folks, This lovely book is identical in content to the other Pius X catechism being sold on Amazon, which I also have. As you may know, in the 1800s, the "Bishop of Mantua ( later St. Pius X)... [wanted to create]...a simple, plain, brief, and popular Catechism for uniform use all over the world." So here it is. It is, of course, in Q & A format and these are the main subjects: The Apostle's Creed, prayer, the Sacraments,the Commandments of God, the precepts of the Church,virtues and vices, and miscellaneous subjects. ( identical in both books.) I prefer this book because there is decent spacing between the questions and answers although the type is smaller. In the other catechism the questions and answers form a solid page--no real spacing, larger type, however. This book is the same size as the other,about 9" x6" with 155 pages. As testimony to my comments, I have just purchased 10 copies to give to my wayward Catholic family and friends to read before the Chastisement really ramps up. Note that this book is almost half the price of the other book. Sweet.

To gain a true understanding of God’s laws this can be an important book. It can help to bring us back into focus. Following God’s laws creates peace and happiness in our life. Modernism teaches us to interpret God’s laws as we see fit. That is Not God’s plan.

Excellent guide on the teachings of the Church. It’s arranged in a question and answer format, which was hard to get used to, but for those intent on seeking the truths of the faith, a non issue.

Great Pope with equally good catechism for the people in the pews. Very straight forward with questions and answers. Using this catechism to follow along with Father David Nix’s catechism podcast (Padre Peregrino).

This is the most clear, simple, concise sure-fire Catechism for the education of the Catholic faithful. In an age of lacking and often poor Catechesis, we need this book to remind us that modernism is temporary, but Christ's Church lives forever. Came without wrinkles or folds, and feels high quality.God bless!
