Revolting Rhymes Paperback – July 7, 2016

This was written in a different time and does contain some naughty words and references. When I was 10 years old and read this back in the 1980s I thought it was funny and probably a little emboldened that I could read rude words. Subsequently I went to college, graduated with a science degree and went on to get two Master’s.Now I bought the book for my son because I think he’ll enjoy it as I did, and I have faith that the two ‘rude’ words in this book won’t scar his childhood - mainly because I’m pretty sure he’s not that dumb.Enjoy some great rhyming and wonderful illustrations. A classic!

Ronald Dahl manages to write in a way that it feels like it's the reader telling the story. The alternative endings that he wrote are a great surprise and make me laugh time and time again. The six fairy tales included are:CinderellaJack and the BeanstalkSnow White and the Seven DwarvesGoldilocks and the Three BearsLittle Red Riding HoodThree Little Pigs and the Big Bad WolfI highly recommend to anyone who enjoys dark comedy and unexpected lessons!

I loved this book and was so happy to find an option to share it with my kiddo. Love the color illustrations.

Nothing to dislike...my grand daughter loves it

Really a good way to retell kids stories you've read a million times. Not really Disney version but also not as bad as the original. I read these to my 1 year old. There's a 2 episode show of this book that tells these as well while staying true to the rhymes.

Lovely. Reminded me of my childhood. Stories with a creepy twist are always okay in my book. Check it out

Unfortunately some of the rude language has been removed from the original but still funny.
