Makes a good hearty bread.
I made my first loaf of bread with this flour. It makes for a bread that is denser and more hearty than store bought and has a nutty, almost pumpernickel flavor. It actually has fiber and protein unlike the bleached flours found on most store shelves. I will be using this to make more bread!

Best quality spelt flour!
Why did you pick this product vs others?: I love this flour! Being wheat free, spelt is a grain that my family can eat. I love this flour for making our homemade bread in a bread maker every week. I cannot find this bread anywhere where I live, but amazon has it. This flour can be replaced for thickening a roux, gravy, making cupcakes or muffins or homemade bread in a bread maker. This flour is quality because it is sprouted and sprouted flour is more nutritious and easier to digest. Flour quality: The quality of this product is top notch. It is great tasting! Value for money: The cost is great -- especially if you buy it on subscribe and save. Gluten free: Spelt is the cousin to wheat , higher in gluten but not as harsh on the gut as wheat. Texture: Makes a great bread!

A Good-Tasting Flour
Before I bought this flour, I did not know what "sprouted" meant in this context. I was just looking for some organic whole grain spelt flour. At least, for my uses in baking and frying, the fact that it is sprouted has not made much of a difference one way or another. But as far as flavor is concerned--and it is very good--it may have a slightly stronger flavor than my standard spelt. Also, as with most flour, it has been fine on my shelf, unrefrigerated, for the last few weeks, and the packaging does not call for refrigeration.

Excellent product from an Excellent company!
One Degree should put me on their payroll! I researched online and called the company and asked lots of questions a few years ago when this brand became readily available. And now I find myself in the grocery store, explaining to strangers why sprouted anything is bringing more nutrition to the party! And then there is the validity of the claims... something that is not to be taken for granted these days! Hence, the call to the company to ask a multitude of questions, and they passed with flying colors! I've never had any issues with grains, cereal or granolas from One Degree. And Spelt is a wonderful ancient grain that more people should try to incorporate into their baking routines. It's healthier to use the lesser known grains and sprouting brings the best energy of Mother Nature to the forefront! If ever you experience an issue with One Degree, I'm confident that they would stand behind their products.

~~ Sprouted grain is GOOD for you and tasty ~~
I have only one complaint about this flour and that is that it does not come in a resealable bag! As with all whole grain flours the best storage place is the refrigerator or freezer and with limited space a resealable bag saves on having to use a piece of tape to keep the bag closed. Who wants to have flour dusting their fridge from an unsealed bag?! Now onto the product itself? Fantastic! I have recently discovered that I can eat sprouted grain but have a rough time with too much "regular" whole grains. (Haven't used white flour in years.) We have a sourdough biscuit recipe that we love to make and this sprouted spelt flour works REALLY well. Creates a light and very tasty bread. You can also use it in cakes etc. As with all whole grains, you may find you need to add a little extra liquid. When I make my biscuits I add a little extra olive oil. Would I recommend this? Yes! Already on our second order! Please note that this product was paid for in full despite being a Top 500 reviewer at time of review. Regardless, all products reviewed are tested and rated based on our honest opinion and experience with that product. Thanks, Liz

Adds a pleasant taste and texture to bread.
Added to regular bread flour, it brings an extra flavor dimension to my loaves.

Very confusing the description: says ‘pack of 4’, therefore the price was presumably reflecting 4 packs of 80 oz each. In reality, it’s just 1 pack of 80 oz.
