Nice look at engineering and technology for younger readers
Starting with a riddle: What does a bridge, running shoes and a roller coaster have in common?, this book uses colorful photos, along with sidebars that have facts or questions in them, to capture young readers' attention. It covers what technology is, some terrific tools related to it, ways technology keeps people safe, how it's constantly changing, how engineers think, how technology is both helpful and harmful, what kinds of engineers there are, some things to help readers decide if engineering is for them and where to learn more. There is a word index in the back with pronunciation and definitions of bolded words in the text. Overall it's an engaging and decent look at engineering and technology for younger readers.

Highly Recommended!
This wonderful book written by Reagan miller introduces young kids to Engineering and is suitable for ages 4 to 10. It explains how many of the things we use everyday are designed by engineers such as video games and sports equipment, to cars and cleaning products. This exciting book include child-centred examples and engaging text to capture the readers attention as they explore the connections between engineering, science, and technology, and discover how engineering impacts our day-to-day lives.Overall, I found this book highly informative & engaging. It also ask questions which encourages children to think about things. Children will identify the engineering that impacts their day-to-day life. Readers will also find insightful sidebars, text-dependent questions, word Index and research projects to encourage deeper analysis. I highly recommend this book and look forward to sharing this with my 5 year old niece.Review by Fatima Khan, Associate Producer, ReadingWithYourKids.com
