Cold Pursuit [4K UHD]

I’ve given this movie 5 stars simply because it doesn’t have any car chases or ridiculous martial arts stunts or super heroes in tights, or absurd science fiction or time travel or convoluted plot twists. It also stars Liam Neeson.However, it can be used to demonstrate how a perfectly good script (the original Order of Disappearance, watch it in the original Norwegian with subtitles, the dubbed version isn’t as good) can be ruined. Every change is for the worse. This is a revenge movie; making it a female empowerment movie undermines the genre. Aya, in the original, is a total cartoonish bitch; one of the most satisfying moments in the original is altered into a moment of female ascendency. Viking, the crime boss, is supposed to be a psycho racist; having him marry a Native American who subdues and humiliates him makes no sense. The female cop who’s smarter that all the guys, although an often-used movie cliché today, has no place in this movie; this is a revenge movie, remember. Turning Brock “Wingman” Coxman’s “girl” into his loved wife, ring and all is patently ridiculous. In the original she’s another cartoonish bitch we are glad to get rid when she struggles to drag her luggage off at the end. Even Nels Coxman’s wife, another bitch, is softened into a hippyish cliché. The original In Order of Disappearance obviously comes with an anti-female bias; that’s part of the joke. This is not supposed to be a political correct movie.Making Nels Coxman’s father a crime boss also contradicts the intent of the original; an ordinary peaceful, well respected, man driven to extra human violence by the unjustified murder of his son (this also is a basic cliché of the genre and they’ve violated it.)The cast is okay but the original was infinitely better. Neeson is very good but I think Skarsgard as “Dickman” might have been better. Bruno Ganz as Papa Popovic in the original is hard to beat so is the rest of the cast of the original which was excellent. The original was a funny black comedy; this is a not as funny gray comedy.They should teach this in script writing class as a perfect example: how not to mess with a good script.

Oh my god! Do not listen to other reviewers but rather listen to me. This is a SPECTACULAR MOVIE. It is a movie played very seriously by the actors in a "Common man's son is killed by druggies" Common man takes a cue from Charles Bronson to seek retribution. All very serious stuff. I LAUGHED until my belly ached. I rented the movie and loved it so much that I ordered the 4K version on Amazon. Say what? How can a serious retribution movie be so hilarious you must be asking yourself? I predict this will become a comedy classic like Airplane. The director must have been out of his mind when he created the screenplay and storyboards.Furthermore, it was like seeing old college friends after decades have elapsed. I don't want to give away the punch lines but the director was nuts and I love it! This is the freshest new film that I have seen in decades. We ALL KNOW THE FORMULAIC plots, very predictable...this movie blows them all away. Rent it. Buy it. Watch it. Watch it with friends. Watch it drunk. Find any way you can to watch it. It's a classic upon its release. Be prepared for the strangest common man takes on drug lord that you've ever seen! Buy it. Buy it now. Buy 2 copies and give one away!

This movie looked good by the previews, but I thought it was just slow and dumb and that's why I gave it 1 star. This movie is nowhere near like Taken, except that they messed with his family. It seems like Director: Hans Petter Moland tried to make this like a Guy Ritchie film, but failed. The parts they tried to make funny weren't and after a while you get really bored and don't care what happens next because you just want it to be over. I know everybody is tired of Liam Neeson doing movie's that are like Taken, but I still like those and was hoping this would've been closer to that. It definitely would've been more entertaining! I don't recommend this at all, but the choice is yours.

The editing and music is horrid. One of the stupidest movies I’ve ever seen. So many weird and awkward scenes.

Aside for liam's neilson racist antics, this was such a good movie. Family loved it. Good story, the plot thickens at the right times. Similar to Taken but different ending.

For me this movie was okay to watch just once and that pretty much did it. It just seemed too rushed for the most part and there was some lack of character development with the films protagonist's. This wasn't a bad movie by any means, but I was just expecting a little more from it. All in all Cold Pursuit was a watch one time kind of film and that's enough in my opinion.

Shame on Liam Neeson for taking this role! In general I like his movies , but unfortunately did not research this one. Actually there is very little to criticize. No plot. No character development. No message. Here is the whole movie. Read it and save yourself 2 hours and $2.99 plus tax. Liam son is killed. Liam kills all involved with a little help from an indian chief. The film tallies those killed. The acting is atrocious by every actor and actress including Liam. The dialogue--little as there is--is so so so dumb. Beyond stupid. One good thing: it should be used to show budding film makers how, in detail, NOT to make a film.

I watch lots of different types of movies, and normally think that Liam Neeson’s movies are worth watching. A lot of the same type of acting, but interesting for an hour and a half. The storyline of Cold Pursuit could have been fun to watch, but the acting of everyone in this movie is boring and very juvenile. Not worth any amount of money, wish I could give it zero stars and get my money back. Don’t make the same mistake I did just because you’re board and there is nothing on TV.

La película llego en buen estado y se ve mucho mejor, audio original en Dolby Atmos y doblaje mexicano en Dolby Digital que suena mucho mejor (sin desdeñar el doblaje de Chile que también es interesante aunque la edición de ZIMA ENTERTAIMENT se me hizo muy pobre). Adicionalmente, viene con material adicional que en lo personal, me es muy interesante. Lo recomiendo mucho.

Waste of money, the movies cast were horrible and the movie changed into another story about 1/3 Into the movie. I’ll give it one star because of the shipping was good.

Very different kind of action movie. Enjoyed it.
