Tried mounting several different items in the rack I built using these rails and the Cisco rack mount switches went in ~ok but the screw holes seemed a bit off.Then I tried to mount a NetGear PoE switch and the holes were off enough to take a bit of filing to get it on the rails.Next I tried to mount some NP shelves and the holes did not align either - more drilling and filing.Today I tried to mount a 1U blank space filler and another 2U 14in shelf and again the holes did not line up. So more drilling and filing.Finally came to the realization that it is not rack mount ears and shelves from 4 other different vendor sources that were all bad it is the rails...So if you don't mind drilling and filing your rack mount bits with these rails, get them. And if you do get these - get yourself a Dremel with some grinder bits, you will need it.However, if you want things to fit out of the box, look elsewhere. Unfortunately my rack is built and populated with a few items and I'm sure time is past to return, so I'm stuck. Just trying to save someone else some grief.

Mounted a set in a compartment on a travel trailer so I could mount some electronic equipment. Easily cut with a bandsaw to my desired length. Black painted finish. Irked as designed and fit my needs. Good, thick steel. Didn't have the feeling I would strip a screw out in it. will purchase again for future projects. Edges have a nice, soft roll to them.

Bought this and cut it down to the size I needed. It is more economical to buy longer rack rails than to spend the extra premium getting a 6U/9U/12U size. Mid Atlantic rails have always been reliable. No issues with the finish or the threading, shipping was fast as usual.

Used these too build a custom rack inside a custom cabinet. They are heavy duty, correct spacing, all the threads were good, and not a bad price for 18 spaces. Not much to say,if you are looking for these you probably have a plan in mind. Just know they are great quality.
