i have started to keep this healthy food around to nibble , rather going for unhealthy snacks or over eating nuts , which though good for health by have lots of calorie , so regular over eating doesn't help with reducing weight.roasted unsalted channa hardly has any fat , has carbohydrate in complex compound which doesn't cause sudden rise of blood glucose. Helps controlling blood sugar better in diabetes 2. It is a source of protein as well. it has roughage and the skin of the Channa adds to the roughage. However many remove the skin which is very easy to remove while you are nibbling on these. it tastes better without skin without loosing the benefits. Unsalted means it doesn't affect the blood pressure in people with hypertension.As roasted Channa (Dry roasted black chickpeas form , commonly used in Indian diet) absorbs fluid and fat which is present in our the food present in our stomach and intestine. Hence less fat is absorbed. It may cause constipation. if constipation is not avoided by take more fluid during the day, few people may find having non smelling gas. in that case reduce the amount, try taking with its skin and plenty of water in addition to other fluids. drink fruit juice when you had not taken Channa , preferably in the morning.You are likely to drink more water than needed to avoid constipation because of the thirst. Hence more fluid intake is good anyway, provided they are not sugary drinks with caffeine.Everyone is different , some may not like it , however worth trying. As far I know Chick peas, white or black are not known to cause any type of allergy but there may be an exception, such as one in 10 thousand people for example.(The information has been passed on the basis of observation from generation after generations.) You can nibble on Roasted Channa product of any company). however I like this product because of the fine quality and freshness. To preserve the freshness store it air tight. It tends to absorb moisture from the air and loose its freshness and crunchiness in few days if not stored air tight. I keep them in the same bag in which they come, by folding the bag at the top with as little air present as possible and put two rubber bands on the bag one on each side. No harm in trying if you have high lipids in your blood or you tend to nibble on healthy things, such as fatty , sugary and salted.
