Carbide Pen Point Tipped Scribing Pen Tool Scriber Craft Tool-Knurled Body Machine Tools

The carbide tip is the whole raison d'etre of this product and is really sharp...but past the tip this is a piece of S(*t. The threads for the cap don't engage and shimming the tip with a piece of aluminum foil or steel sheet doesn't cause those threads to hold the point securely. The body of the scriber has major rust deposits in the knurling, the clip is smashed / hammered to fit and the magnetic cap is not concentric to the remainder of the body. It'd be a fine tool with a teensy bit more attention to detail but for $8, the lesson of "caveat emptor" wasn't that rough. If I were to buy another scriber, I'd get a second "General Tools 88CM Tungsten Carbide Scribe", which I bought at the same time as I'd purchased this mistake. The General has an aluminum body whereas this has a steel (based on weight) one, which the heft makes it feel more precise, nonetheless I'll keep the General in my shop apron and lend this one out in hopes that I won't get it back.

Really decent product for the price

Solid, does its job, plus it can be used as a tactical device.
