Cordless Beard Trimmer w/Ear/Nose/Brow Trimmer

I must admit that I mostly bought this when adding items to get above $25 for super saver shipping. And I'm glad I did. I've ordered more sets now as gifts, because it's a nice product. Does a fine job, sharp blades, comes with oil, nice size in the hand, plenty of cutting power, great for sideburns & moustache... and if I ever grow another beard, it'll be great for that. I have used it to mow back my neck hair and it's better than the hair clippers I had been using. And surprisingly, the nose hair thingy works well too. I had left it in the package since I felt it was a silly product... I've used scissors to do my nose hair as needed for years.... even though it's not 100% safe, and cutting yourself inside a nostril is a good way to get a MRSA infection. But the little device takes just one AA battery, and does a dandy job with zero risk of cutting yourself. Frankly, the little nostril trimmer is worth the price of the whole set easily. I see that several people have complained about battery life. Honestly, anyone still buying and discarding alkaline batteries deserves poor performance. These devices, like virtually all else that runs on AA batteries, will will work brilliantly and long on standard eneloop rechargeable NiMH cells... which cost about $2 each on amazon and which will each take 1500 charge cycles. They also put out power very well for high-drain purposes, and do not self-discharge significantly. I have used both the items in this kit now for months, and have not had to recharge the eneloop batteries in them yet. And once I do, I'll be able to do it indefinitely at no additional expense. So this is a nice Amazon deal. Hey, if you only need one of the devices, keep what you need and give the other one to someone else. Everyone knows a beautiful woman who would be a bit more beautiful if she pruned her nose garden back a bit. Everyone knows someone with uneven sideburns. For value and utility, I give it 5 stars.

I wanted something to trim my eyebrows and nose, and something with a stand, so the trimmer & attachments wouldn't be scattered by my sink. Cost wasn't a priority for me, but it didn't hurt that this was so cheap. Two trimmers, a number of attachments, and a stand, come in the package. I knew from another reviewer that the "bonus" nose & eyebrow trimmer doesn't fit in the stand, but it's flat-bottomed, and stands up just fine. A small bottle of oil is also included, and has its own spot in the stand, along with slots for the comb and cleaning brush. Other attachments go into a tray. The nose trimmer didn't run when I first installed the batteries. I just bent the battery contact out a little and that fixed the problem. Poor quality control, you guys. The trimmer is the round type: the outer, round guide is stationary, and the blades spin inside. It worked like a charm, without any pulling or discomfort. My old one had a narrow, straight blade, and it took a long time to do the job. This one was quick and easy. The instructions recommended using the nose hair trimmer for eyebrows, but that seemed a one-hair-at-a-time job. Instead, I just used the "5-position guide" on the beard trimmer, set to its longest position. After one run on each eyebrow, the errant hairs (or at least the errant parts of them) were gone. I don't have a beard these days, but I tried the trimmer on my side-burns, and it worked well. I've only used this once, so I don't have experience on how well it will last, but I'll only need to use it a few times a month. For now, it works fine for me.

Update 7/19/2016 The trimmer finally quit a week and a half ago. Solid piece of face grooming equipment; Wahl is one of the best products for the money. I'm absolutely purchasing another one to replace it. ------- This set piqued my interest about a year ago when I spotted it on sale on another website, only to find out that it was cheaper on Amazon. It turned out to be a pretty good deal. Let me start by echoing other users' reviews: the plastic that this trimmer and its accessories are made with feels extremely cheap. However, I have not had a single issue with it, and, like a good book, its what's on the inside not the outside that matters. This thing trims very well, and has been used about once or twice a week for the last year, so it holds up. The comb is fairly standard, though I've never had a use for it. The blade guard is a nice touch, especially if you leave it in the storage base without use for a period of time. As for the storage base, while its made of very cheap, thin plastic, it holds everything nicely and helps keep your bathroom sink well organized. It is kind of odd they didn't bother to make it big enough to hold the nose trimmer, however. As for the nose trimmer itself, it doesn't work as well as you might think. Unfortunately, simply spinning it along the inside rim of your nostril doesn't quite cut it, as you have to get underneath the hair and push slightly up into your nostril to get the hair properly removed. It does the job well, but its a longer process than it really needs to be. You'll spend a few extra minutes longer than you'd expect to make sure you got all the hair trimmed that you wanted to. I've also recently ran into an issue with the nose trimmer on/off switch doing whatever it wants. If I flip it to 'off' once its on, it sometimes stays on, then will either turn off once in the 'on' position, or stay the course. A few good smacks against my hand remedies the problem, but I use this thing maybe once or twice a month, so its durability seems to be lacking. I gave this a 4-star rating because of the nose trimmer, and to a much lesser extent the comb and supplied oil, since I haven't had a need for them as of yet. Its still a very good trimmer at an excellent price, and will certainly serves your basic trimming needs.

Would have been good if it was chargeable instead of batteries

It’s a no 1 waste product. Don’t buy. Very slow motor but still drains the battery. It even hurts your skin because sometimes it feels like earthing
