Her: A Psychological Thriller

interesting read
I enjoyed it overall. Couple typos, but obviously nothing that ruined the book. It was just the right amount of twisted and interesting to keep me reading for hours

Wanted to Love it
Saw great reviews for this on TikTok. I have read about a quarter and I cannot get though it. It’s pretty confusing switching back and forth between characters. I love thrillers but I am having so much trouble getting into this book. I’m going to tough it out but not my favorite and not an easy read to get through for me

Everyone needs that special friend...
“It’s a shame we feel the need to know every little thing. Because, and this is where I’d like to warn you, knowing every little thing is dangerous. Knowing every little thing is like asking for a cup of poison and drinking one tiny sip at a time. It will kill you slowly. But it kills you nonetheless.”Ann is the perfect neighbor. Fabulous and popular, everyone likes Anne. She’s written a self help book. Ann throws great dinner parties and everyone wants to be her friend.Sadie lives in the same neighborhood. Unfortunately for her, her life isn’t going along very well. Her husband left her, she’s lost her motivation.Ann and Sadie meet. Ann takes her under her wing, and tries to get Sadie on track. The relationship is odd, and slightly overwhelming for both of them. Then there’s the little matter of people they know dropping dead. Sadie is so jealous of Ann and her life, would she kill to keep Anne to herself? Or were the deaths just a coincidence?A twisted kind of stalker tale. Crazy storyline you won’t be able to put down. Sadie is so relatable. Everyone hits a low point in their life. Who better than to have a self help author as your friend?I really enjoyed this psychological thriller. My first time reading this author. I got interested in her books through a book email signup. You just never know where you’ll find a great author with a great book. I’ll be looking to read more from this writer.

Where did that come from?
The complete sideways ending does not fit and is quite cliche.

Twisted Read!
Woah! This book is darker than I expected, but I really enjoyed it! Britney King is a great writer. Hands down. Whatever she writes I will read it. I fell in love with her novels when I read The Social Affair about a year and a half ago and I haven't been able to STOP devouring them since. She has a knack for bringing out the worst in her characters and showing her readers all their dirty, ugly, faults. Not many authors can successfully do this while maintaining readers attention but she can. Not only that, she can write dark thrillers better than many. I don't think I have read anything quite like hers with any other story. If you are looking for a twisted read with an even twistier climax, I recommend HER. . I wasn't expecting the ending- it made my stomach churn a little bit- but I like how the author ended it with a huge BANG. YIKES!!!!!!!!!!

Page Turner
This book caught me by complete surprise. I was skeptical at first until about the 2nd or 3rd chapter. That's all it took. I ended up staying up all night enthralled by this book. It had me absolutely captivated and I couldn't put it down. This book had me guessing the whole time and the suprise twist took me by complete suprise. I loved it!

Would have made a better short story
It seems like a good premise but it’s so hard to get through. I understand it’s a book, but being too descriptive and wordy isn’t always a good thing. It reads like a kid’s essay with a word count. “I only need 100 more words to make it, better add more adjectives”. It’s very slow paced and redundant. Maybe it would have been better as a short story

Icky
I don't leave bad reviews just because a book isn't my cup of tea. It might be very well-written but the genre simply isn't to my liking; in such cases, I just don't leave a review at all and chalk it up to a bad choice for myself. In this case, I realized after just a few chapters that HER is definitely NOT my cup of tea! I like psychological dramas/thrillers because I want to know understand the psyche, but avoid the creepy ones.HER is CREEPY, ICKY.But that isn't why I'm leaving only 1 star. I'm leaving only 1 star because the style of writing is also poor. It's confusing, disjointed, and simply Not engaging. I noticed that right away, even before I realized it was creepy and I still had hopes of enjoying the book. After I decided I wasn't going to finish it, I cheated and read the ending. I wish I hadn't. What is seen cannot be unseen. What's disturbing is that the author actually came up with this stuff. THAT is disturbing. I hope she finds healing because I suspect she needs it.Skip this book unless you like feeling icky.

Confusing
The book seem to drag on with no real storyline and the twist at the ending was unexpected but not in a good way. It was a let down

Strange
The book started off ok , then some really unrealistic things happened that made this a poor read , it was a waste of time and money , not recommended

Thriller is what you get at a quality few can reach.
Her is a it says a "Psychological Thriller" what it doesn't say is how great out it is, it's certainly dark it will leave you guessing, wondering and hence never knowing what the next page will hold for you. Sadie is on a downward spiral that's certainly how "Her" 👀 sees it Ethan has left Sadie but watch that space as now Sadie knows that so you shall know that. (Read the book it will make sense).Does anyone really knows what goes on in the neighbours house let alone the road or the street, it could be murder or infidelity, or it could be love and flowers, but this is a thriller so probably not the latter but you need to read it to know for sure. One thing that appears true in fiction and life is that even the perfect neighbour has secrets but just how dark and dangerous kinky time can tell, or the next page or so.Basically I highly recommend this book and anything by Britney King, i have read several of her books and was keenly waiting for this one to come out and was not disappointed i hope you love it as well.
