Great, inexpensive camera!
I purchased 8 of these for a huge project I am working on & I LOVE THEM! We have them in multiple locations around the job site & for the price you can't get anything better. One of them stopped working outside (seal problem?) & after a few emails with the company they sent me a replacement at no charge.Highly recommend for anyone wanting to do timelapse photography on a budget.

Defective product, terrible service, refused refund
When I first received this item, everything seemed great. The housing is sturdy, with some batteries and an SD card I had it up and running pretty quickly. However, from the start the images were not what I was hoping to get. At the 5 MP setting, the images were significantly blurred. This blurring was visible even when the images were scaled down substantially.I figured this was a defect with my particular unit, so I contacted Wingscapes customer service about the issue. What I heard back from Wingscapes was shocking: The camera was performing to their expectations and had no defects. I then tried to return the product through Amazon, had the return authorized, shipped it back, but did not receive a refund. Overall, my experience with Wingscapes' customer service was terrible. I did not receive prompt responses, and they did not heed my requests for refunds during the process. I eventually was able to get the return resolved through Amazon's customer support, but I never did get any useful feedback from Wingscapes. In summary:- These cameras (at least sometimes) have serious issues with the focus settings that will seriously limit the effective resolution of the camera.- Wingscapes' support for their products is terrible. Do not expect any help with a unit that is anything short of dead.- Be very wary of the return policy Wingscapes offers. In my case they seemed to be actively attempting to avoid giving me a refund.

Not Very Good for Flower Time-lapse Photography
This is the third iteration of a Wingscapes time-lapse camera that I have used. The first was called the Plantcam or Gardencam and while I had a lot of fun with it, the thing could not focus closer than 11 inches and took slightly blurry photos no matter how it was adjusted. The second camera was the TimelapseCam 8.0 and it was not bad at all. It could focus down to 8 inches, and if adjusted properly was capable of very good time-lapse photography. I would have rated that camera at four stars - higher if it could have longer battery life. This latest camera has some positives: a wider field of view, which can focus to six inches, and you never have to worry about the batteries running out. They switched to C cells, and the batteries don't run down no matter how many thousands of shots you take. The big negative is that it is unusable to me. I should say that I use these cameras almost exclusively to take time-lapses of small flowers opening up - search the internet for Vermont Hoyas to see some of my work. The big problem with this camera is that it will not take photos that are in perfect focus no matter how you adjust the focus ring and believe me I have tried. It very well may take decent photos when not used for close up work, but that is not how I use it, so I can't speak to that aspect. I can only say that I have quit using it and gone back to their second generation camera. I suggest that if you want to take time-lapses of flowers opening up that you look to something else.

Resolution isn't great but does the job

no go show
I have had a plantcam for a few years and really liked it for the money. Once you hooked it up to external power you got decent images easily. That is till the logic board died.So I replaced it with this model. Holy crap! The reviewers are right. Terrible image quality. Weak at best in the middle of frame and super soft most of the way to edge of frame. Completely unusable. I thought we were done with these garbage grade security camera lenses in the 90's.I'm not expecting HD, just a decent image. This glass isn't a third as good as the sensor.Sending it back.

Watch out for seller
Bought two of these... received model WCT-00121 (with flash LEDs) instead of the advertised model: WCT-00122.

Not as ordered
I was shipped the wrong model charged more money as it was a pricey model and then when I tried to clear up the situation I was given the run around by the company. This went on for over a year and a half. Thank you but no thank you
