Tops25232 Royale Business Casebound Notebook, Legal/Wide, 11 3/4 x 8 1/4, 96 Sheets

Great product, great size (basically full sheet of paper), but the paper is simply too thin. Ink does not bleed through, but it is visible on the backside of the page.

I am using this as a laboratory journal and comparing it to the Blueline Executive journal. The looks of the casebound or hardcover style notebooks are substantially more professional in both appearance and durability than composition books. So far when compared to the Blueline the Tops here is a better monetary value. The paper is a higher grade and the page count is accurate giving you the number of pieces of paper instead of usable pages. I am left handed and have thus far had no problems writing on the back page though. The book opens flat enough that being left handed is not an issue. On the front page, you can write your ownership and other demographics on it. If I leave it lying about the lab or the station house it will be easy to return. This journal has approximately .5 additional square inches of writing space compared to the Blueline- which to some may not seem like a lot but when added to roughly twice the amount of usable writing space the value begins to show. The Tops Royale Casebound Notebook doesn't have the gloss or finesse of the Blueline but excels in comparison of price per value. Personally I thought both brands were worth 5 stars it just depends on what you're looking for priority wise but since I was doing a comparison study I though should share it with other Amazon shoppers.

Here’s the low-down: I use a roller ball to write in this. While I think you’d be ok using the page front and back, I don’t. A regular ball point or pencil would be just fine. But that’s personal preference so do with that what you will. Otherwise I love the large pages, and I’m happy with my purchase.

This is PERFECT for my personal monthly budgeting! I team it with a pretty folder to put my bills in when they arrive, then each month I shred the old bills as they are paid and add the new ones. I had been working things out every month on a legal pad, but then I would lose the paper and come bill-pay time could not find it. Now I have it all in one place. No more stacks of lose papers, bills, grocery lists, etc. and such lying about. I also do my grocery list on the back of each months budget page, so that is now all together and less stacks and remnants of notes scattered all about!. (It only took me 43 years to figure this all out and find what I needed to accomplish it!) THANK YOU, TOPS & AMZ!!!

Beautiful journal. I bought it to create a keepsake journal of my relationship with my then boyfriend of six months. The relationship unfortunately didn't last, but the hybrid journal/scrapbook I had just created when he broke up with me turned out perfect, and I suppose I'll be hanging on to it for posterity or something-- maybe just because I put so much time into it. The paper is creamy and smooth, the lines are a great size for tidy but not cramped handwriting. The cover looks very sharp and the color is rich. I love the ribbon page mark. Everything about this journal is great for someone who loves to write or journal. This would make a fantastic gift for a creative mind. Should I find a need for anything like it in the future, I'll likely buy another of the same design.

I like this notebook, but removed a star due to the color. The picture here in amazon shows a black book with blue spine. However, the actual book does NOT look like this. The spine is indeed blue, but the main body of the book is more of a gray color. It does not look bad, but is not nearly as elegant as the black pictured.The book itself is fine with thick paper and I have no problems writing on both sides of each page.

If the book had come in like new, it would have been fine. The product itself is good if it comes in new, good shape. 6 of the 15 books I ordered looked like it had fingerprints or other markings on it. Thankfully, I was able to wipe it down with a rag. One came in with a scratch and was a little warped. These should be brand new with no defects.
