Tastykake Butterscotch Krimpets - 24 Cakes Total (12 Packs of 2 Cakes)

I'm a Philly native (I don't like to admit that in public). The city sucks. Think all the bad things about New York and then make them worse due to the city not being New York and you have Philly. But there are some good things. Soft pretzels (with mustard) are good and so are the best snack cakes in the history of mankind: Tastykakes. My favorites are the Butterscotch Krimpets.

We bought a ton of boxes for our wedding welcome bags. We did not realize that there is a two week shelf life. When we realized that we ordered way too early, the responder was amazing and understanding and allowed us to send back out Krimpets and then receive new ones in a few weeks so they would be fresh. Thank you to who helped us! Our guests LOVED them!

I bought these for my students after we read the novel Maniac Magee by Jerry Spinelli. These snack cakes were mentioned several times throughout the story, and my students were curious about how delicious they might be... We don't have that product in Minnesota, so I decided to purchase them for a surprise. They were a hit with 5th graders!

Thus the 4 stars. This cake tastes nothing like butter scotch but it is very good. It is more of a butter cream.I would've left fewer stars cause again not butterscotch but if I plan to buy it again, and I do, that hardly seems fair.It has a lot of things going for it, aside from being more butter cream than butterscotch. It is sweet but not so much that you're feeling sugared out after eating it as some cakes can leave one feeling. It is pleasantly moist and the amount of frosting on top is pleasant.Light and not 2 inches deep as some cakes can have that one can buy at the grocery. The cake puts one in mind of a moist sweet pound cake. Along with the butter cream frosting it hits the spot. The 2 to a pack is perfect as my wife and I are being healthy and cutting back on the amount of sweets we have so we share a pack, one cake each.Moderation works far better than deprivation so these are perfect. The thickness of the cake is well, not overly fat so just enough once again. Well proportioned and has the feel/taste of a real cake rather than a mass produced little Debbie style even though it is.

They're exactly what they are. Not sure why you'd buy this if you don't know what they are. They taste exactly the way they're supposed to. Which is awesome. Can't find these in stores in the place I moved to.

Krimpets are my most favorite "home food" from my youth, but I probably haven't had them in 60+ years. I was so excited to find them again, and then so disappointed after my order arrived. First, one of the boxes had only 5 packages in it. Customer Service prompted issued a refund for that box. So I would have given them a 5, but as I have opened more boxes, the plastic wrap around the Krimpets has been torn open on a lot of packages, leaving the Krimpets exposed to the air. So they are stale in many cases. Still the best-tasting little cakes out there, but less than I had hoped for.

Haven't had Tastykake Krimpets in 40 years. Found them on Amazon and had to get them! Delivered quick, packing secure and yeah I spread them out over 12 days for breakfast! Will order again!!!!!!

First off, the Butterscotch Krimpet that I remember was bigger, softer, and definitely more butterscotch-ey than these. Like the shrinking of the Hostess cupcake, we all can relate to the corporate take over of our beloved garbage food.That being said, these arrived with a 'Best By' date of 10 days later.They were already fairly dry with icing either falling off completely in one sheet or smashed into the plastic wrapper.Bland and dry.You really can't go back again.
