The Critter Nation cage itself is fantastic, almost perfect except for the rubbish "tray" it comes with. A tray that allows the substrate to fly off everywhere. This item they have designed to be sold separately for a problem they themselves have manufactured, but it works, and works really well. A little flimsy but your pets (or your negligence) shouldn't break it any time soon.

I got this as a handy ladder for my rats for when they want to climb in and out of their high cage. Its really sturdy and the fabric sleeve is easy to remove and wash, as well as stable enough to stay attached and not slip off. My rats love it, running up and down, bouncing on it, and it remains firm and strong for them. Perfect as a platform or ladder for your pets to get around and have some free time!

I have been using this since September and I am quite pleased with it.It is not, as I initially thought, a full tray (I didn't t read the description properly). Its a seres metal strips that clip on to your existing tray leaving a gap round the edge. I was initially worried about 'stinky things' getting stuck in the gap, but they do brush away quite easily and its survived a weekly hosing down without going rusty (early days I know). The reason it is 4 stars and not 5 it is a bit flimsy, was a bit of a pain to fit and I am a bit concerned about how on earth I will remove it without it breaking.Bottom line it does work! I have three young girls (rats) who are typical rats and can be a bit messy, the guard has significantly reduced the amount of bedding, food and other such lovely gifts they would normally attempt to throw on the floor. I previously had a Savic Rat Royale and the critter nation (with the guard fitted) is much cleaner

I use this so my young male chinchilla so he can run in and out of his cage for his "playtime" outside his cage. The ladder is super rigid and is greatly made. The fleece is so soft when washed. Awesome products. Highly recommended. Arrived quicker than expected. My little "MASH" loves is

The bottom of the guard doesn't sit flush against the tray that it is meant to fit, so litter will get under it and to the outside of the guard. The clips that hold the guard to the base are pretty flimsy, one of my ferrets has bent the front piece of the guard and got behind it within a couple of hours, even the micro ferret in the cage has no problem bending the guard and clips. The guard being bent by the ferrets only makes the litter escape under the guard so much easier, its not so mush a scatter guard, as a scatter aid.

I wanted to find something that my rats could use during their out of cage time to leave the cage and go back inside. This is perfect! I have a Liberta Explorer Second Edition, not the Ferret Nation, but it fits perfectly against the outer rim of the cage. They can now come and go as they please!

Got extra of these when the cage I bought only had jumping shelves, but my kitten was too young to be jumping. Worked perfectly for that.

The product is as shown in the photos. The velcro allows for easy assembly onto the pan. It's very durable and even hold up in a washing machine. Its performance stands up to little claws very well and doesn't tear. It's well worth the price if you are not a crafter. However, it can also be easy to make yourself so it depends how much you think the effort is. It perfectly fits the needed pan sizes but make sure to measure beforehand.

After buying and returning 2 other “ferret” cages I now understand why this cage is the only one that you should even consider.Assembly was easy for 2 people, tons of room for ferrets and cleaning it is simple.

the top scatter guard works amazing for ferret nation 183 this one was super easy to install and was easy to put on the tray(btw) it's easier to install the panels with the tray outside the cage .. I think I read something that someone was trying to do it while the pan was in the cage.. I'm pleased with the fit. When putting together they're a tab you bend it to help secure it.The bottom scatter gaurd I had a slight issue with the first one Item side gaurds are too big by a half inch to 1/4 inch on the sides can't install it to my pan for my ferret nation 181. some of the pieces were slightly damaged but the boxes are not. Was returned before Im thinking? for the same issue because of the damage on the part that snap together. I ordered another one it was slightly better but still a little too big on the side, it doesn't fit in the pan on one side and sits up causing a gap. Maybe I'll order another and see if I have the same issue for the bottom scatter gaurd. If so I'll probably modify it to fit correctly.
