Scholastic BOB Books Collection 2 Box Set [ADVANCING Beginners and Word Families]

Reading collection 1 was a struggle-- we had to establish a habit of reading the books often and also a love for reading while simultaneously teaching a difficult, new skill to a toddler. After we finished the first collection, i let my toddler skip around and pick whichever book she wanted to read each night (We also went to the library more regularly to entrain a love for reading).When I knew for sure my toddler had established a secure confidence in reading, i ordered Collection 2. My toddler immediately started thumbing through the books, picked one out, and started reading it right away. I love how Bob books are simple so we can work on reading comprehension, and how they slowly introduce new rules to young readers.

nicely wrapped, excellent condition. I'm excited to use these books with my son. We finished collection one and I'm excited to start collection two! these books are larger than some of the other styles. I like that they are easier to see and feel more substantial.

I guess you get what you pay for. The box holding the collection was damaged and perhaps already used. On closer look, the labeling was suspicious for a knockoff with typesetting errors. We have not read all of the books yet to determine if there are other errors.

Child was very excited for the new readers, a good sign! New in pkg, excellent buy!Child lives learning and reading to adults so, as the child says, “I can learn to read so I don’t get a crappy job.”

Based on other reviews, I bought this set instead of Set 2 after my 5yr finished the set 1. So glad I did. This boxed collection books are larger than the ones in Set 1. More vocabulary in this collection but they are introduced slowly. Great collection of books after the Set 1.

Bought these on the advice of my sister who is a teacher and uses them herself for her daughter, my son like them, i like them they are short and to the point. Goes well along the reading skill they are at school and gives him more practice at home.

My son struggled with reading in kindergarten and was far behind entering first grade. His school placed him in first grade language arts, and he has made some progress but has hated reading. Since working with these books, his reading and confidence have both improved. For the first time, he is enjoying his reading lessons and even asks if he can read to me now.

Bob books are awesome. My son loves them. My only disappointment is that I wanted the usual size and this is the 8-inch size (which I'd purposely not purchased at Costco). I wish it had been clearer that these are the large version. Otherwise great!
