The Bluetooth adapter is terrible. It is too pricey for what it does
Wand does not work. It stops working intermittently and we have to pause for it to reset. The Bluetooth adapter is terrible. It is too pricey for what it does. We have bought 4 so far for our business. These keep burning out and are very unreliable. We have been looking to find a hand held scanner that works without hiccups, but using this one because this is the devil we know.

Great scanner
Within the past couple of months, I've tried 2 other scanners. One manufacturer had the most difficult time with English and not much in the way of a users manual. The second had better documentation, and I think I would have been successful getting it to do what I wanted it to do, but I just could not get it to connect to the Bluetooth. The Wasp WWS5501 had a great starting guide, and a user manual on a cd that came with the scanner. I was able to get the scanner working within 15 minutes (probably less). I use the pre-amble and post-ample extensively, and I found it very easy to use. By the way, the Bluetooth usb that came with the Wasp was not usable. I tried to contact the manufacturer, SABRENT via phone, and never got through. I was planning on using it rather than the onboard Bluetooth. Anyway, I'm up and working (without the usb Bluetooth) and very happy. I have a fairly small office 2,000 sq ft, and the scanner does a great job communicating with my workstation.

Good for the money
Works well, seems to do the job. Scans seem accurate. I dinged the review a little bit because the programming barcodes are mostly included in a DVD - means you have to print out the codes you need to set up the scanner. And if your printer isn't very good, they wont be scannable. I had to print codes on 2 different printers before I got a working set that I needed.

Junk
They work for a few days and then our IT person has to get them working again. Company provides no support.

The Scanner is great, the bluetooth adapter is terrible.
I bought this scanner to use in our school library. At first it was very difficult to install and took a couple hours to sync with the bluetooth adapter. I will also say that the disc it came with only contained a pdf with an instruction manual and not a "driver CD" like the wasp bar code website lists in the box contents. With help from our two IT people working together, we got it up and running despite confusing directions. The Scanner itself works beautifully and seems like a quality piece of tech. It does make some odd little noises sometimes but it does the job just fine. The bluetooth adapter, however, does not work and has given me problem after problem. It is not compatible with Windows 7. The adapter that came in the box is made by Sabrent and from what I can tell from other reviews of the adapter, it doesn't work with Windows 7. At first it worked about 50% of the time but after 3 weeks now, it has completely stopped working and will not sync with the bar code scanner. All it says is that there is an error and it had to shut itself down. I am now looking for another bluetooth adapter that will be compatible with the Freedom scanner.

I was able to connect this scanner with a tablet ...
I was able to connect this scanner with a tablet without any issues. The scanner is in use anywhere from 5-9 hours a day 5 days a week and I have not had any complaints of it dying out. So far I have not had any real issues with it. The only complaint that I have it is a little difficult to connect and program. No where in the documentation does it say there is a limit on the time between scans; as a result I was taking my time leaving about 5 seconds between the scans just to be sure I was scanning the correct bar code. Well it was not programming correctly as a result I was about to return it. I then called support and they told me you need to be quick and scan each bar code right after the other. When I did that I was finally able to get it connected to the Bluetooth and programmed correctly.
