Reliable and last for years
I have at least 25 sets of these icicle lights, having purchased the first few sets 8-9 years ago. A few sets get added each year. They are beautiful on the house and outbuildings, and they have held up very well -- every set is still in service. The only time I've ever had to replace an in-string fuse it was my fault as I plugged that 7th string into the 6th due to a miscount. (You can hook 3 sets, which is 6 strings, together. After that, you need another plug-in.) A bulb or 3 gets replaced every year, but that is nothing but routine maintenance that you'd perform on any lights. If you have not used these lights before, I have a tip or two for you: the drop lines are not going to hang straight down at first, and will remain kinda zig-zaggy the whole Christmas season if your weather is particularly cold. I would definitely suggest taking them out of the box and removing the twist ties a week or so prior to hanging them. If you can do this in the house or in a heated garage, that is a plus. That will allow the wires to relax and they will look measurably better when you hang them up. Secondly, I do not fold them back up when I take them down. I leave them plugged together and loop them kinda like you would hang a water hose. Then I place them on a long rod of rebar that is hung near the ceiling of my shed. The lights keep very well that way, and I even label them as to which section of roof they belong to. The light bulbs don't get broken over the year because they are up and out of the way, and the wires are always relaxed so that they hang properly when the holiday season rolls around.Take the time and these will last you a good long while. I recommend.

Good, non LED lights you can't seem to buy in store anymore
Bought some Holiday Time lights last year after Christmas when they were on sale, and when I went to put them up this year found I was a bit shy. We went shopping for new ones, but now everywhere only seems to carry LED lights, which I'll agree are nice and bright, and the energy savings are attractive, but they are too 'white' and didn't match the lights I had up at all. Found these online and the color and brightness are a perfect match. Only downside is the ones I bought locally are 'high density' so they have twice the lights in the same amount of space, but I can't really tell where those lights end and these begin.

Not LED. Thank Goodness
These lights project a soft glow, the original brightness. All the icicle lights in the stores now have LED brightness, which is too much!!

Alright for the price
Portions of some strands go out randomly. You have to wiggle the wires around to get them to turn back on. One small portion, that happened to be front and center of our house, went out after a couple weeks and wouldn't come back on at all.

Buy the extra insurence policy! 2 weeks really??
Beautiful! But after 2 weeks they started to not light per section. Make sure you get the extra policy. Wasted my money.

DON'T LAST - SOME STRINGS NOT WORKING ON OPENING
I replaced 2 strings initially - they worked over Christmas. I took the greatest of care to gently remove and store them for the following season. I tested them indoors this year and only 1/2 of the strings worked, checking each bulb did not help. I used the 2 good sets around windows, portions of each went out over the couple of months they were in use, now circular filed! I grew up with the same set of Christmas lights lasting for 30 years and other lights I bought on my own lasting 5 years or more, these lights are a grand waste of decorating time and money. Too bad because they are nice-looking.

Not worth cost
These looked very nice when they first went up then one by one each entire strand went dark. I had no idea which light caused the entire strand to fail. I thought they did away with the one light burning out makes the entire strand unusable. Besides, they are soo small you cannot tell which one it is, especially when they are hanging from an 8' fence. I got maybe three weeks of light from them. Total ripoff. I remember taking strands of lights and putting them up year after year. Not anymore. They are designed to fail right after Christmas is over.
