i know people hate how you got a gay dragon but hey i didnt care so i read this and it was amazing. so many cool things and a big cliff hanger but i dont like it when the people are being sexist about one thing in your book which i did notice you are an amazing writer and dont lpisten to those sexist critics. have a great day!

awesome book. really good cliffhanger
This book was amazing and i love it. it was helpful to see the dragon world through the eyes of humans. there is a fair chance that this was one of best written books in the wings of fire series. if anyone thinks that wren should have accepted her parent's apology, think again. they tried to sacrifice her to the dragons when she was only 7. also, i am 100% sure sky is kestral's other child and peril's brother since he fits the description of him and a dragon who looks like kestral tried to findhim at the beginning. i hope that in some point in time weather it be in book 14 or 15 or in another legends, we find out what happens to wren and sky with the invincible lord after them.

The Worst Book
First, let mee get this out of the way: The Poison Jungle is a good book, and if you whine about a gay dragon, why?Anyways, I much prefer the dragon books, so please don't make this a human series. There are far too many retcons for me to enjoy. The plot just felt slow to me. Just keep writing dragon books please.

Tui Sutherland is wonderful
We pre-ordered this book. The kid is so, so, so happy to read Sutherland's books. I appreciate that Sutherland is fairly progressive with respect to her portrayal of women/girl dragons.

good till later right?
all the books to wings of fire were good I only found out about this book series last year. Book twelve seemed so cool with the hive wing making me want to read it you know so I read the first through twelfth book amazing. and waited for the next book when I read it I was so shocked tui sutherlaand put a gay dragon in there with feelings for another dragon of same sex now I like the books and all but is the writer trying to mess with me or something. glory help me. I think sunny would do better though. anyways I recomend this book for kids 12 and up because you don't put a little kid in front of these books and except him or her to go ok I'm fine with this. work on the book not the audience. seriously hope this is helpful to parents and all.

Amazing, makes me want to re-read some of the books in the series.
Amazing! When reading this book, It made me want to re-read 'The Dragonet Prophecy', 'The Brightest Night', 'Winter Turning', and 'Escaping Peril' to confirm some theories that I had when reading this. I did re-read those books and I found things in them that confirmed my theories and events that happened in this book. Let me give you some advice, If you own any of the books I mentioned, I suggest you those books before you read this. (P.S. pay attention to the description of the scavengers in those books.)

another great book for my collection
i have read all of the wings of fire book and they are amazing! i really liked how this book tied into the origonal ark and finaly filled the hole of what actually happened that fatefull night when oasis died, i hope that (spoiler alert!) sky gets to meet up with peril for a family reunion sometime. one thing for the people who gave it a one star because of some gayness in the poison jungle, please DONT give this a one star because of that, if you dont like it thats ok but post a bad review here, do that on poison jungle. also dont complane because tui did something that you dont approve of doesn't make it ok to hate on her for her dision as an author to make an LGBQ+ character, i like that tui is giving support to the small LGBQ+ population especially because one of my cousins is gay.thank you tui for an incredible book series that i can relly connect with, cant wait for the 14th book to come out!thank you for listening to my rant-kirishima (my discord user)

Worst book in the series.
I've read the first two seasons and darkstalker; they mostly manage to tell a good story with good characters and balanced themes. This book does not do that. To be clear I wanted to enjoy this book; I knew that it would take a hit in that department moving away from dragons to humans but I never expected it to go this far.I could not stand any of the main characters; the only likeable character in the bunch was Sky for me. The story is split between three characters and jumps forward years in time between chapters for each of the characters. The main character's aren't relatable like other characters in the series the story as a whole is much more barebones expecting the reader to make assumptions rather than explaining at any point why certain potential logic holes are not in fact logic holes. The author's hippocritical distaste for masculine men and her hippy peace and love idealism is at it's worst and most undisguised in this book. It's a constant that any male characters that have any male traits at all are either a villain or denigrated as following the wrong path until they give up their ebil male ways. At the same time the female characters are rewarded for expressing those same masculine traits. The closest character to bucking this trend in the book is a background character who gets no focus what so ever. The author is very much trying to lean heavily into the female centric audience in this book going as far as to allude to the pony/horse features of her dragons which I don't recall her doing up until this point. Some of the side characters are outright irritating to read even without the gender biased dialogue.(Edit: I realised the central problem in the book is the author continually shows no respect to her male characters that it comes off that the book has a deeply cynical view of men. By lack of respect I mean showing them in the worst light, making them the butt of the jokes and certain scenes where the feelings of male characters are expected to have no value to the audience. The result is that her female characters say and do unlikeable things that well adjusted people would not do or otherwise would do it in a way that does not leave the impression of unjustified and unneccessary callousness.)There are good bits and bad bits. Some jokes work, some fall flat on their faces. Maybe some children won't see in the storytelling what I see but I'm not sure that's entirely a good thing. The three main characters were incredibly frustrating to read for the first half of the book and even in the later sections when it gets more bareable the characters still come up with some lines that just left me saying. "Why did the author think that line was a good idea?"For those that might think this review is about a certain dragon in arc 3 it isn't. I haven't read arc 3 I'm waiting for the third boxset to be released to go with the first two I own. But if arc three is as bad as this one book is, I'm going to be going through a lot of mental pain certain dragon or not just to keep up with the story.

very good
Lovved the book. It keeps you wanting to read. I like the way the chapters were set out and where it had the conecting references to the wings of fire series. Also that it was left open for a second book which I really hope there is

Kid approved!
My 10 year old daughter has been reading this series for a couple years now and she loves them. She always looks forward to a new release and asked me to suggest more graphic novels too please. :)

Really Good
The format was the same as the legend of Darkstalker book. It switched P.O.V's between three characters. Wren, Leaf, and Ivy. I highly recommend you buy this book. It has a good amount of content for the price and is one of the best books (In my opinion) in the 'Wings of Fire' series. However, there are references to the books in the series, like when Wren and Sky see the Dragonets' cave (book 1). Or when Ivy and Foxglove see Darkstalker flying by (probably between book 9-10). I suggest you read the first 10 books, then the legend of Darkstalker, the thrid arc after that (book 13). Then you would be able to fully understand this book.
