Did They Lose My Address?
I really can't critique the item because I received the good ol' "Undeliverable" message. Ok. I get that--nothing in the world runs perfectly 24/7; but, my dismay is present because I received no plausible explanation as to "why". For example: "Dear customer, your item was returned to the seller due to extensive damage. You may opt for a reorder or a refund." Nope. "you will receive a refund within 3 - 5 days"So...I ordered it from Macy's for even less money--we will see.Update: I received my refund for an undeliverable package. Thank you Amazon! So, I received my smoker from another retailer. The packaging was in excellent condition, nothing broken and all was well. I was very pleased that assembly meant only sliding the racks, water pan and smoker box into place.I have an outdoor grounded outlet so I brought it outside to begin the seasoning process. I found that the instructions are quite clear in the "Smoking Guide". It seasoned, then I loaded the smoker box, filled the water pan and began preheat.Personally, I cook all of my meat with a thermometer. I really like the design of "Time or Probe" Just remember to remove the probe from the smoker and insert into meat first. Setting the controls was straightforward! I was smoking short ribs which sometimes is a long process. I was amazed that it smoked 7 lbs. to 170º internal in just over 3 hours--and I love the feature that keeps the meat warm until ready.Overall, the product works as designed, its weight is manageable and cleaning is relatively easy.Oh yes, that annoying sticker on the window--a combination of diluted Isopropyl alcohol (50/50 with water), a tablespoon of white vinegar and a squirt of Dawn will help greatly. Wet the sticker and get underneath printed layer.By the way, the ribs were Bulgogi--a homemade Korean barbecue marinade. At 170º, the sinew was tender and the meat just fell off the bone and very juicy. I hope this helps. KP. Upgrade to 5 stars

Juicy, Tender Meat With Little Effort On My part!
Does a great job. Smoked a chicken and St. Louis ribs and both were thoroughly smokey. The water/catch tray does a great job of keeping the meat tender and juicy. The unit is built very well, and I really love the remote temperature devise! No more opening the door to poke a probe into the thick part of the meat to see if you've reached the target temp. My only disappointment is the length of time you have with a full smoke box of chips. I packed the chips in tightly as suggested for a long smoke, but instead of lasting 6-8 hours as promised in the owners manual, they were completely expended in less than 4 hours. I'll need to reach out to Char Broil and see if they can make any suggestions. The type of wood may play a part in the smoke duration. I used hickory, as this seems to be the most popular way to achieve a really deep smoke. Overall, I'm very satisfied with this smoker and would highly recommend a purchase. *** Here's a tip for clean up...Purchase a hand-held steam cleaning unit as I did. It was about a $50 investment, but does a fantastic job on the glass door! I also used it on the other interior surfaces, but it will require quite a bit more elbow grease with include brush accessories, because the metal surfaces are naturally going to be more porous. I decided to use this instead of a chemical cleaner.

Great smoker, fingers crossed it holds up better than the Masterbuilts
I love this smoker. I knew I wanted a smoker ever since my Dad got his Masterbuilt electric. I chose this one because it was very reasonably priced and came with a ton of bonus features that I liked, such as the remote control, glass door, and built-in meat probe. I have used my smoker a handful of times so far for pork butt, ribs, chicken wings, and soon I'll try my hand at brisket. All of them have turned out great and the smoker is super easy to use. The preheat setting is very useful and takes a lot of variability out of the smoking process.Pros:-- I love the huge wood chip box in this smoker - filled all the way, it lets you run up to ~6 hours before having to refill. I'd recommend refilling before that if you want maximum smoke flavor. The large wood chip box takes away a lot of the nuisance with smoking, where you'd have to add more wood chips every hour or so using another electric smoker.-- The temperature control seems good. It recovers slowly after opening the door so don't be too nosy while the smoker is going, just let it do its thing!-- Remote control lets me check on time, change time, change temperature, and monitor meat temperature without having to get up from the couch on game day-- All the trays and grates are removable and can be thrown in the dishwasher so clean-up is a breezeCons (these are mostly minor)-- The glass door does get dirty inside pretty quickly but that should be easy enough to clean.-- No adjustable vents-- The biggest negative for me is that the wood chip box is enclosed inside the smoker so you have to completely open the door to get to it, which causes the temperature to drop and takes a while to recover. (The same goes for the water/grease catch, but that's true for most electric smokers.)I have not used the meat temperature probe so I cannot comment on its accuracy. I use and would recommend a high quality probe thermometer to rule out any questions about the accuracy of the built-in probe for this smoker. I use mine for all sorts of other stuff in the oven so it's worth the investment anyway.Side note to some new smoke addicts - in an electric smoker like this it is extremely difficult, if not impossible, to get a good pink smoke ring. It's a chemical reaction issue that is inherent to the low heat provided by the electric heating element as opposed to ignited wood/charcoal. The smoke ring adds zero flavor, it's just a chemical reaction that makes it looks pretty. So don't be discouraged if you don't get the smoke ring - it's just for looks!The biggest remaining question for me is: how long will the heater last, and is it easy/affordable to replace if it fails. The Masterbuilt electrics are notorious for having heater elements fail at their solder joints. I am hopeful that Char-Broil has taken these complaints into account in their design to avoid those issues. If the heater fails like the Masterbuilts, I will be pretty disappointed. But until/if that happens, the smoker is great and I love using it.Edit 3/2017: I've had this smoker a while now and I am dropping my rating to 4 stars. It is very convenient and I like the little remote, but I have noticed that the lack of adjustable vents really hurts this smoker. I live in a windy area and the wind comes freely into the smoker, causing it to cool down. This really hurts my ability to smoke anything in the winter. On one night in particular it was 20-30 degrees and breezy, the smoker wouldn't get above ~180F even though it was set at 250F. Eventually I found some cardboard sheets and some styrofoam to insulate the sides where the vents are, and it got up to 235F. So if this smoker had some adjustable vents, and preferably a stronger heating element to deal with temperature drops, I'd probably rate it back to 5 stars.

Faulty dissapointed No help from Amazon
I bought this smoker for my restaurant in London everything arrived promptly but the machine does not have a voltage convertor from 220 to 110v the. I bought the converter i try to plug it in, but is not working the smoker i check with an electrician to have a look into it but he could not find a reason why is not working the voltage transformer is working properly but the machine is not working is faulty !!!Very dissapointed with the services y send an inquiry to Amazon Us but notting 0 awnser 330£ to the bin

Love the window, hate the sticker.
Love this smoker, the window was a game changer for me being able to see everything through the cook.Would’ve given it an even better review…. if it weren’t for that bloody sticker.. Enjoy :)
