Great exhaust fan that I can turn on with my tv remote
All in all it's a great exhaust fan. It looks fantastic. It's not too loud, and moves a bunch of air. The only problem has been for the past year and a half the fan appears to turn on at random. After much investigating and observation we believe we have found the prime suspect that is activating the fan.... Using the volume control on our Klipsch sound bar remote, after periods of idle, appears to activate the exhaust fan with surprising regularity. It is an infrared remote so this seems odd, but it happens. Has anyone else experienced this problem? Again, great fan. You just have to be ready to get up to turn off the fan after using the soundbar remote.

Very satisfied customer but scope of improvement on manual and vdie can be little explicit (Very minor and trivial)
Read so many before buying this unit. However the description or manuals were not clear on the below three, which was important to me and thought this had based on reviews. My bad too so have given a 4 star and nothing wrong with the product.*** There is no sensor to auto switch on the unit**** This does not have the oil drip tray**** Also my unit does not have the suction as shown in video. Not even in Fan speed of 4 which is the max. Video shows the box being glued up to the unit even at fan speed of 1***Atleast mine has turned on so far.Order and shipping. No hassels and Got this pretty fast way ahead of what shipping said.InstallationUnit is heavy so you need 2 people to fit it.Easy instructions and the installers fitted it in couple of hours hooked to tubes and opened the ceiling and were done.(Not the handy man but professional installers).OperationThe timer and fan switch on was easy. The auto timer off for fan is also a nice feature. The light is nicely illuminating and was sufficient for us. Not like many users have complained. This model the fan does not switch on automatically nor a oil drip tray. The cleaning of filters are a jiffy. The noise at F1 to F2 are not a botheration but F3 and F4 are noticeable. Well you want some suction right....Indian cookingFor Indian cooking the masala smell is removed to a great extent. It also sucks all the smoke and vapor.Deep frying leaves some smell inside the houseTo test how good the unit is When we cook we go to the side of the house where the chimey goes to the roof top (not side). If the wind is blwoing the direction we can smeel it for a good 50 to 100 ft. Very powerful Indian masala smell is taken out and sent out. That is how noticeable it is. My neighbours have stopped by to say and ask what is cooking. So you may not want to take the pipes to the side if you are Indian or chinese cooking where the spices and condiments smell a lot and you are better off if taken to the ceiling.

Xcellent hood, well worth the cost, and better than others in its class. True commercial grade for the home customer.
Great hood. Worst part is installation. Definitely find a helper (or two). I installed this myself and... it was NOT easy.I love the high quality materials and workmanship. It definitely feels "commercial grade", and it cleans so much easier than range hoods with those mesh filters. You will NOT find a hood from another manufacturer in this price range of this performance and quality. Everything of this grade usually runs 1000 dollars or more. This thing is heavy, and boy does it ever push some serious air. I have this above our 60,000 BTU Range and Dual Convection slide in unit, and it does wonders. I can boil a full 5 gallon stock pot of water, fry food in another pan, and run both ovens, and this will suck out all the steam and heat - hardly a noticeable increase in temperature in my kitchen. Before, with the old hood, barely anything was pulled out.One thing to note - if you have shallow cabinets like me, you will very nearly be cutting almost the entire cabinet bottom out. The bottom of the cabinet will NOT support the weight of this unit alone. It needs to be screwed into studs, or have some other method of affixing in place well. Thankfully for me, the studs lined up perfectly with the predrilled holes, but you might need to drill some holes of your own to line up with stud placement - I would check with the manufacturer before doing so, to be sure this wont void the warranty. Also, it doesn't come with a cutout template, so you will need to make your own from the box it comes in. The outlet is a full 8 inches, but you can buy a reducer at the local big box to bring it down to 6. I did so as an interim, until I replace my roof when I plan on putting full 8inch exhaust tubes. Using 6 inch tubes WILL reduce the total CFM output of the unit.Full Disclosure: I ordered a similar hood previously, and didn't take care in looking out for who the "seller" was on amazon. I was defrauded by a non-authorized reseller who sent me a used, opened, damaged hood. Thankfully, amazon did right by their word, and took the return. Double check the manufacturers website. To my knowledge, there is currently only ONE authorized reseller of this hood that sells them via amazon, Range Hood Direct Buy.

This vent hood really sucks! I mean that in the very best way
This vent hood really sucks! I mean that in the very best way! It's attractive and solid and seems very well built. Hubby installed it himself with some effort, we have an 8 inch pipe so we needed an adapter. It is very heavy and I wasn't much help in holding it up so he used a car jack to lift it and hold it in place while he installed it. I hate for my house to smell like food I cooked and this is the best! I fried a pound of bacon with the fan on level 2 (there are 4 levels), my family could not smell bacon standing across from me at the sink. Now I can't wait to cook fish and cabbage and all the other stinky foods!Be sure to check your measurements as this unit is bigger than most 30" hoods.

The material is good and filter could be washed in dish washer is a plus. The only thing is that it is very hard to put filters onto the hood . I still not get the skill yet to put them all sitting properly on the track. The sucking power is good not as powerful as I image. Smell of pan fry fish was still around the house. I still love this product,
