usually receive 3 tubers attached but didn't
Was concerned as I've been growing Lotus for several years till developments came in area pushed native habit causing Otters to eat my stock Lotus's. Point being is I know Lotus as both grower/nursery & consumer. The package granted ordered only 1 plant arrived as we normally package them, only upon opening noticed 1 small tuber by itself, unrolled a little more the newspaper & another fell out that was that. Usually there are 3 tubers attached one to another to another. Not 2 separate tubers which were rather yellowish & very thin & weak looking. Still i PLANTED as we usually do, the one tuber was very reluctant to form roots the other one just died or never developed. Still thought I had one, while tubers from other sources all grew rapidly, this one lone tuber just never took off. One dime sized very yellow leaf formed that was all she wrote, the leaf turned brown after a day no more leaves the stock tuber turned brown & died. I should have sent it back but at the time was to busy getting water lilies & Lotus going for clients. Don't accept single tubers always make sure there are 3 attached & should be whitish color yellow ends (sheath) with just a few fine roots showing
