A really solid set of dictionaries helps me learn more effectively, and this Encarta one is one of my favorites. It has good depth of definitions without the circular definitions I have experienced with a Merriam-Webster College dictionary. There aren’t as many derivations as I would like, but the quality and number of even specialized definitions has been a great benefit for my studies. (I have 2 other books I use for derivations.) The hard cover helps support the pages, but the pages can curl and get a bit wrinkled at the front cover. The weight of the pages is well contained by the binding, not becoming a folder as some other books I own have. This is highly recommended for someone in high school or starting college. It might be an older edition, but other than slang it contained most of what I needed. One of my favorite mid level dictionaries!
I struggle a bit with language despite having a bachelor’s degree in nursing. A really solid set of dictionaries helps me learn more effectively, and this Encarta one is one of my favorites. It has good depth of definitions without the circular definitions I have experienced with a Merriam-Webster College dictionary. Great dictionary
I liked this dictionary so well that, after receiving this one on February 16, 2009 I ordered one for my oldest daughter whom has 3 youngin's. Her family is happy with this dictionary, as I am also. Glad to see that this dictionary is still available through this web site,

Great Dictionary for the interested student
I have used this dictionary a great deal in the past. I had my copy taken and was without it for several months. Excellent on different definitions and the root of the word.

A sweet treat and so much more.
The Dictionary was exactly what I wanted . The Microsoft Ist Edition . I knew I was ordering a used one but it was in great condition , even had its original book jacket which also was in good shape . The price , and the speedy delivery made it a sweet treat .

USE IT ALL THE TIME
This is a great dictionary and arrived in great shape - just like new. Love it as I read a lot and like to look up words I am not sure of the meaning.

Great price for this dictionary
I got this used and it did have some wear in the cover and first few pages, but this was exactly as described, and usually happens to all these Encarta's. Considering how much these cost new, and how much I love this dictionary, I was very happy with the product.

Great Dictionary. Any word I'm looking for will be there. It has complete definitions, good ethymology, as well as idioms. I use it every day for my studies. A great tool!
