Great musical fun!
The Green Tones temple blocks are well constructed, sound pleasant to the ears and very enjoyable to bang away on for kids. I love how the temple blocks come with holes for storing the 2 mallets. I wish this was something Green Tones included with their Beginner Drum Set. Very happy with the purchase.

This is a toy, not an instrument.
As a practicing music therapist, I was so exited to discover this brand of high-quality wooden instruments. I purchased this for use in private sessions with a toddler. When I unboxed the instrument and tried it out, I was SO DISAPPOINTED. The tone of these temple blocks is horrible, they barely make any sound at all. Additionally, the pitches of the blocks appear to be random and don't actually represent any type of scale. This item is a toy and is not useful, which is very unfortunate considering how costly it was. Will think twice before ordering from this brand again.

Fun, but not quite what I'd hoped
The temple block set appears very well built. It's a quality toy. Unfortunately it suffers from one issue that, as a drummer, I just can't get past. The highest block should, of course, be the highest in pitch. Oddly it is not. It's actually closer in pitch to the lowest block. I'm not sure how that happens, but that's what it is. I called Green Tones customer service to see if there was anything I could do to fix it. Apparently nothing could be done, and I was told that this is an actual manufacturing issue that they are experiencing. I had the option to trade it for something else, but I chose not to go to the trouble. I will say, however, that my daughter loves them. She isn't aware of their defect, so it's all good. She'll have fun with them until she's old enough to play my real temple blocks.

Danger for younger kids
buyer beware... the sticks that come with this are poorly put together. After just over one day (and no real rough play), the tiny yellow ball on the end of the stick completely separated from the stick. If your kid is prone to sticking things in their mouth, please don't let them play with this unsupervised!!

Best for very small kids
Very cute and sturdy toy. My kids are really into instruments, and like it, though because it's not really set up to play proper songs the older boy is less excited about it. I like that it is not very loud. It would be nice if it could also at real music, so it could be more versatile, but for young kids, it's great.

Eh, I got what I expected.
It’s ok for using in my elementary music room—I wanted a set of temple blocks that we could use to spice up some songs once in awhile. The pitch on these isn’t great, so we won’t use it if we need defined pitches, but it’s ok for sound effects. Also, the top note is basically useless. Just makes a clicking noise (and not a pleasant one at that) without pitch at all. I read reviews before purchasing, so I pretty much knew what to expect, but I got exactly what I expected, which is only worth 3 stars. If you need real pitches, invest the $$ for a regular set of temple blocks

which essentially looks like a child's toy
With even the cheapest of full-sized temple blocks going for near to $50 each, I was really not expecting anything from this set of blocks, which essentially looks like a child's toy. After watching a YouTube video review, I thought I'd give these a try and they exceeded expectations by leaps and bounds. We needed temple blocks to lend a certain sound to several of the numbers our band does, and these fit the bill nicely, even in a professional setting. If you are looking for a workaday set of blocks that will provide you with what you need for "Sleighride" or "Chinatown" these will do the trick.
