A must for O/U 's
Good item for the money. keeps the chambers lubed by putting some gun oil on swabs and more importantly allows you to discharge/release the firing pins and springs. It allows the spring to be relaxed when not in use rather than being cocked for long periods. unlike many other actions that can be released gently in several ways, there is no practical way of discharging or releasing tension on firing pin springs on O/U shotguns and firing them on empty chamber can break the tips off the firing pins. leaving them cocked in the off season for months can weaken firing pin springs and the pins and spring replacement is not a practical thing for average person to do on most O/U shotguns. these should be provided with all O/U shotguns. there are two kinds of O/U's real cheap ones and very expensive ones unlike most pump and auto loaders that can be discharged by using a drift pin or small dia. screw driver set in bolt handle slot and pulling trigger back towards the rear of receiver, then slowly lowering the hammer. but internal firing pins cannot be released gently. And the parts can be replaced in those type as they are easy to remove firing trigger groups and bolts mechanisms.

Surprise, now my favorite snap caps
For some reason I was reluctant to try these and passed them by for other styles but finally gave them a try. The wool chamber portion does a couple things I like when used in my over under shotguns, it absorbs residual oil remaining in the barrels after cleaning, preventing it from migrating to the action and stock. Since it is slightly larger than the chamber the wool snags on the ejectors when opening, thus eliminating the "flying snap caps phenomenon" we have all experienced. The spring loaded "primer" cushions firing pin impact when dropping the hammers to relieve mainspring tension during storage, an excellent Carlson's product.

Does the Job
These are well made and I am glad they used brass for both the case-head as well as the primer-plunger. I used spray silicone to lube up the chamber mops to prevent any rusting. I like that you can unscrew the bore mops a turn or two to lessen the tension on the primer-plungers. I have never bought a Carlson's product I didn't like.

Perfect for my over/under. Tried some others, and i am HAPPY with these.
These are what i needed for my break open shotgun. Buy them. I tried several brands and styles and they were junk. The mop keeps them from falling out of an over/ under when you break the action open. Also, overall quality is very nice, and the brass primer is soft enough for the firing pin to mark lightly, but also spring loaded so it isnt destroyed every time it gets hit. I like these- i may buy another set.

Excellent snap cap for 28 gauge shotguns
These are quality built snap caps. The head is machined to SAAMI specs. The "mop" allows you to impregnate it with a light oil to prevent rust in your chambers. I pretty cheap investment to protect the firing pin springs and chambers on expensive shotguns.
