Works with my Leica
This is a pretty sharp lens. On film certain lens seem favor different colors. This lens seems to favor yellow. Don't know if it's a Ziess thing it's the only Ziess lens I own. I have a Leica lens and when I switched them mid roll, I showed up kind of blue. I have heard that the blue thing is a Leica trait on their older lenses. Most people who traditionally used rangefinders seemed to be shooting in black and white anyway, so most of the time it's probably not even going to matter. Yellow, Blue, and Red they all show up grey anyway.

Sharp images with excellent color seperation.
Excellent, extraordinary lens. Compares to the Leica 50mm Summicron which is slightly better. Colors on the Zeiss are slightly cooler, the Leica 50mm is slightly warmer and a little more robust with an internal lens hood. The Zeiss has softer contrast at F2.0-F2.8 which is great for portraits. The Leica 50mm Summicron is, of course, legendary, the Zeiss 50mm Planer is very close in comparison. You cannot go wrong with this lens. Photography at this level is about choosing the right paint brush to suite one's color palette and it is a matter of taste. I like this Zeiss 50mm F2.0. It is a great lens!

Fantastic lens and rivals the $2300 Leica 50 Summicron in every way except the build. It has more 3D pop, punchier colors, and is plenty sharp. A great value all the way around.
