Love These
There is no information or pictures on how these go together. The brass insert gets boogered up too. It’s soft metal so use the tip to force it into tube. Also make sure pencil goes thru the center insert. But they are very nice addition to slimline pen.

here is the lead
Mind you I am a beginner when turning pens and because these were cheap, they were good for practice but it is hard to get the lead out. I fill the pencil with new sticks of lead and, when pumping the pencil, the lead advances about every second pump, if lucky. Again, a good set to practice with but not good enough quality to sell or give as gifts. I wrote this after assembling my first pencil but sense then, the lead is advancing fine. I will be dissembling my first efforts now that I'm getting some experience, add make a second effort to give as gifts.

Be careful....
I have so say I am a little underwhelmed by the quality of these kits. I usually buy from pen state, or rockler, but these were a bit cheaper, and O love amazon prime delivery. The kits look exactly like the real kits, but when pressing the pieces together, I had the insert crush. I thought I must have fat fingered the pressing. Any pen maker will tell you it does happen. Well, I had 2 more do the same before I figured out the metal used was very weak compared to the normal kits. I say that having made hundreds of pens and pencils over the last few years. Also, when I handed out the finished pens to my coworkers, one of the mechanisms completely flew apart when he tried to take the eraser cover off. Luckily I had a backup pencil with me as these were christmas gifts given on the last day before break.Anyway, if you are careful with them, they are fine, but they are NOT the same thing as the normal kits.

Flimsy parts
1. No instructions. Had to go to the seller’s site for that.2. The first step was to press in a very flimsy coupler, which was then subjected to being pressed again to complete the pencil. This crushed and distroyed the whole thing and tip could not be screwed in.3. There was no warning saying to press with less force. I have never had a part fail such as this did.

pencil
You have to be careful with the pencil insert it is brass. I used the tip to insert the second one. The eraser cap fits tight and will pull the gut out but can be put back together. I might put a drop ca glue on it to keep it from pulling apart.

Poor quality compared to pen kits
CHEAPLY MADE! Half fell apart before even making them. Poor quality compared to pen kits.
